I was woundering, does any one use this for there dog or have they used it before. Yes I used it for Benji our Bichon last summer but it didn't work unfortunately. He was on it for a month and it had no effect whatsover - he still scratched like mad Its very expensive too it was £28.04 for ten tablets but we thought it would be worth it if it worked. Once it starts working though you can wean them off it so they are having maybe one tablet a week so its not as expensive then.
Has your dog got allergies??
Answers:
Yeah he has an allregy to near enough everything you could think of (including grass). He has been on these for like a year now and we have just taken him off them as he has injections each month instead. I just woundered if anyone used them as they are £36.00 a pack of 10 now and if you dont have insurance it works out expensive. I have 4 brand new boxes in doors and seems a shame to through them away.

Just wondered if the injections work better than the atopica because I wouldnt mind trying the injections for Benji if they are not too expensive (we aren't covered by insurance either) Your Atopica would have been more expensive because it goes off the weight of the dog doesn't it so if you sell them to anybody be careful to make sure the dog is a similar weight to yours. I know they weighed Benji and he was on the ones up to 15kg I think (He's a fat sod for a Bichon - although saying that he is quite a big bichon and has longer legs than the average bichon )

Yeah the injections seem to be making him a little happier - only down side is they are about 70 quid a injection and to start off with iis is like 2 a month, takes about 8 months to get on full dose and then starts to work. Seems to be making an effect. Buddy is a shar pei so a little bigger but they increase the dose the longer the dogs are on it. They go up and up and up. God yeah I would not give them to anyone that does not already use them and they are 25kg ones so a little bigger. Lucky for me my vet told me to get Insurance and I did as he got it at about 7 months old and he is 2 in May and it has cost about £19,000 so far on Pet Plan. Nightmare.

Hi Gemini and Foxy, i have been giving my dog de-sensetisation jabs now for about 18 months. I inject him once a month now with a dose of 1.0 ml. The injection is the Artuvetrin immunotherapy vaccine. I'm not sure if this is what you use but it starts off with 0.2 ml on day 1 ,then 0.4 ml on day 15, then 0.6 ml on day 29. This carries on at 14 day intervals increasing the dose by 0.2ml up until day 85 when 1.0 ml will be given. This is then the dose injected every 4 weeks. It costs about £160 for 10ml of the vaccine which lasts 10 months. The good thing is that they work for my dog. If they had'nt then atopica would have been the next option but that would have worked out very costly as my dog weighs 50kg.....Cheers...Ian..

Wow, yeah sounds like the jabs mine is on now, the Atopica did not work and now he has jabs every month. I no they work out very expensive as well as 2 different shampoos and ear drops/eye drops each month. He has to see vet to have his once a month so even more expensive, I could not jab him myself. I am so glad other people have to use these medicines as I thought I must just have a dog with lots of problems, would not supprise me as I am a bit jinxed when comes to pets. Love them and look after them but something always gos wrong.
