Question:
For the past 2 morning, about 5:30/6am, Teagan has sicked up yellow bile - which I have always been told means they are hungry.
Do you think I could be giving Teagan her dinner too early in the evening? Then because it's a long wait until breakfast, she is getting hungry?
She is on 3 meals a day at the moment - 1 in the morning - between 7 and 9am (depending what time we get up), one about 1-2pm, and then her last about 6pm.
Normally she is only on 2 meals, and never sicks bile up. But she needs 3 at the moment really, to help put the weight back on.

Hi Heather
Yeah I've heard that its cos the stomachs empty so the stomach acid has nothing to work with.. I think...
Could you maybe push her dinner a little and then give her a bisquit or something just before you go to bed?
Answers:
She has a few biscuits as we get into bed, and more inbetween meals!
Will make her dinner an hour or two later.
No idea why I put this in behaviour by the way lol

H H, can`t reall see as its to do with her stomach being empty/hungry as she normally only has 2 meals but is know on 3. What time did you used to give her the last meal of the day?
It could well be due to some new food you`re giving her to try to put weight on her? Maybe something fatty she`s not used to, maybe too many fatty foods combined. Have a look at the foods she`s having, also is she still on any meds?

I agree with Christine and think the bile has little to do with hunger and could be many things including liver/fats/meds. I would give her rice and white fish or chicken for a couple of days to see if that settles things down then reintroduce her normal feed by feeding half and half.

The only thing that has changed is she is now having an extra meal.
She is having kibble with all 3 meals (the same kibble she was on before).
Things I have been adding, the she had with her normal 2 meals anyway - banana, eggs, mince, sardines (not all at once), and occasionally 1/2 tin of wet dog meat (chappie), which she has had quite often before.
She isn't on any different foods to what she usually is on - just extra.
She isn't on any meds now...she was on Synolux (sp), but that has stopped now.

I did a search for dog+bile+sick, it brings up quite a lot abut dogs being hungry...
Some dogs are prone to sick up yellow bile in the morning if their stomachs are empty.
a dog that is sick with yellow bile is probably hungry and needs fed
Ordinarily if they bring up bile (yellow liquid, often frothy) it is simply slight excess acid and feeding a little later at night or offering just a small amount of biscuit before bed time will resolve the issue.

Yes but if she didn`t do it before & her meal times were the same I still don`t see how its the cause now, specially when shes now getting 3 instead of 2 meals

Just thinking - she has been at the vets for 3 weeks - no idea how many meals, or what times she was being fed.
Could it be the change?

Heavvur I would not automatically assume it is hunger, vomiting bile can be a symptom of many things including liver problems, keeping Teagan off fats for a couple of days to see if it has an effect will do her no harm . I would feed rice/fish/chicken and porridge made with water and a little honey .Also keep an eye on her.
