perhaps a scan might help ..... do you have friend who could help you with the whelping if needed perhaps your girls breeder .. that book is a must and will prob arive in a few days




well we did a scan on friday and the vet thinks she can see about 2 but possible more are laying underneath,
my baby girls breeder i dont know him as she was 18 months when i got her, they were just goin to leave her to anybody so i took her and he said he would post me the papers but never did. but i cant imagine life without her.

lots of newspaper
a heat pad ( from argos)
small box with hottie bottle for pups
sharp scissors for cords

urm gone brain dead..help folks

As the others say get the book as soon as you can, it is only £9:99 on Amazon..if ordered you should get it the next day..read it cover to cover to give you a rough idea of what to expect.
Have you got somewhere you can put the whelping box away from your other dog? It is a good idea to start putting the bitch in the place where she will whelp so she gets used to it. You will also need a heat source for the puppies like a hot pad or lamp..and a few other things we wil tell you about later...it also tells you what you need in the book

ok will get that from argos tomorrow, i thought the mother bit the cord off..
and how do i stop it from bleeding wen i cut it. i know about the news paper god i got rid of a load at the recycling plant today damn!!!!!!!
i get loads of free papers so its ok.
what if she goes into labour while i am at work....
were do i keep her as i have the boy here aswell i got to take him to my mums she lives 200 miles away




i got a vet bed pen and pad why will i need that i will pop and get puppy formula on wednesday wen i get paid and some scissors for nursing they are sharp enough.

...the pen and pad are to note the times of puppy arrivals, you need to keep track in case there is a problem ..the vet will ask you times,

...you will know hours before that whelping is going to start..there are signs
a drop in temp/not eating/nesting/vomiting..all this will be detailed in The Book of the Bitch ...can you arrange a day off at short notice?

...yes most bitches cut the cords.....but as Inca suggests best to be prepared


..,Don't worry..you will be fine, there are many good people on here who are used to whelpings

Make a note ..When you bitch goes into whelp inform the vet so he is prepared in case you have to go in urgently..

yeah i read that 1 about 10 mins ago oh my god i think i am going to faint seeint my poor baby in so much pain i feel its all my fault..
i just hope she doesnt rip my arms off.
