i needed to vent...
Question:

why does it always seem that everything comes down on you hard all at once?
and every other time this has happened, i've been able to breathe and find a moment of clarity.
since i've been diagnosed it's been harder. because now i'll stress myself out. then try to think about NOT doing so because it'll make my p worse. and then i stress out about p.
i know that i'll get better about taking care of myself but this is all really new to me. i actually CAUSED a huge flare up [yeah, i even got it to flare on my face] because my nerves have been so shot. aaaaah.
i know that no one can really help me, but listening is what i really needed.
so here i'll emphasize how grateful i am for finding all of you. you not only provide a million suggestions and know more than my derm, but i can open up to you about seriously anything. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! :D

Hi Ali,
Sorry to hear you're stressing out. :( It's so easy to do. Try to do something nice and relaxing for yourself (a long candlelit bath, a special dinner, time with a friend), even if only for a few minutes. Easy to say, but not always so easy to do. Hang in there, and vent all you'd like. :)

little angel,
I understand, too. I wanted to go out and walk today. But I can barely get around in my house. I hate this disease. I don't like to use the word "hate" but I don't know any other word to use. I see my treadmill and almost talk to it-saying I'll be back ;) stay there for me. I don't know if I'll ever get to walk normally again.

HI Ali,
I am so grateful that I got to meet you this past December. You are such a beautiful and sweet girl. Unfortunately, stress is a part of life that none of us can avoid. How we choose to react and handle that stress is about the only control we have over the stress.
When I am feeling overwhelmed and stressed, I try and prioritize what needs the most attention and take it from there. This way I have layed out the groundwork and everything else just seems to fall into place.
Hope you feel better. Be patient with yourself.

Oh boy can I relate!!! My trigger is stress and what makes it worse is that everytime I flare, the flare stays. I'm very close to procuring my home UVB unit (total excitement here!) and if it fails me I will be going all out aggressive to try and see some normal skin.
Ali, if you figure out a good way to ward off the stress please pass the info on!

to those i've met, to those i will meet, and even to those whos paths i may never cross, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
and if you ever need anything. to vent. to laugh. to cry. whatever! i'm here :D

Hi
Having to deal with this disease , the only fair thing that we have the right to do is to vent ., to complain, to be upset , to be frustrated.
We , more than anyone , are allowed to feel like this .
So , let's scream and let it out .
I do this all the time with myself and with others .
What I really don't like is when others think we are suffering for nothing . I have "friends" to tell me that this disease is not that bad . That I make it complicated .
 Not bad for you , cause you don't have it .... I say to them .
Only us know what it is like . So , i learned that . Now , I know exactly who should I talk to about my psoriasis . Only to those who understand the pain and really give the support .
To avoid disappointments , share everything with those who are really at your side.
Take Care
Remember , the clouds in the sky are never the same . They move , just like our mood. Everyday is a new day .

I have been stressed out lately, too. Yeap, the p starts getting worse. I feel for ya. I really enjoy this site it helps so much. I know my friends and family want to help or try to understand. They just don't know how it feels to have this on your body day in and day out. The itching ( about to drive me nuts) and people staring and asking you can I get that? Yes, p is a big pain in my life!

Hey Ali....
By nature... I am a worrier. I worried about things ever since I could remember as a young boy...all through all stages of life. I'm a worrier to this day. But, when we are told, "Don't Worry," it's so difficult for anyone but a non-worrier to NOT worry.
Today... let's have Ali Day. For one day a week... do something special for you. Take time out... for you. Soak in a bubble bath for an hour.... rest on the couch.... pop in a meditation tape.... and just be. Today and once a week, pamper yourself for you deserve it.
Know that you are special, beautiful and are loved. Time for you to really, really believe that too....
Enjoy Ali Day!!!
Blessings, (And I won't tell you not to worry....)

My personal favorite pick-me-up. A day at the salon... or how ever much time I can afford at the moment! Manicure, pedicure (usually my first choice) a simple wash and style. Just having someone else do something for you that makes you feel better. Nothing like having someone else wash your hair especially if they are well trained and massage your scalp. Ooooo..... *sigh*
Hope you get to feeling better about things.
