Hi and welcome, Carrie.
Glad that you found us. You can also try Aveeno oatmeal bath to soak in. Many people say it's very soothing. There is also an anti-itch spray made by Gold Bond and another by Eucerin (I think). You should also check with your doctor, but sometimes Benadryl can help as well. If you see a doctor, you might ask about Atarax. It is a prescription that many people have had good results with, but it will also make you sleepy. Good luck. :)

Always use something in your bath water. I love a product called "Robathal" its cottonseed oil. Any emmoliant helps though, as water can really dry you out. At the very least, moisturize after your shower/bath.
Oh yeah- and RUB an itch, dont scratch! (especially dont pick!!
That always helps me.

Answers:

Take a cool shower, pat don't rub your self semi dry, apply moisturizer, then apply any of the OTC itch creams or spray. If you still have some itchy spots apply ice to those areas.. Hope this helps...

Hi Carrie;
Welcome! There is a lot of great advice here from a lot of really helpful people. They have been a lot of support for me in the past year or so.
I agree with everything said here. My favorite thing to do is to soak in a warm (not hot, it will make your P worse) Tub with either Aveeno oatmeal bath or soda with a little lavendar oil. A bath is so soothing. Shower when you finish soaking and pat dry and moisturize. I use Ucerin itch spray between moisturising if I start to itch. I got a little sample bottle at my Derm that I keep in my purse and I keep refilling it and keep it with me all the time. I hope you find something that works for you soon.

Hi Carrie....I went through some terrible itching last year....it got so bad my
Dr. suggested a blood allergy test for foods...surpriseingly it didn't cost
much ...my ins. paid for it. I think it was $250 anyway they tested for 98
foods and I had 12 that showed up as triggers to the allergen......if you
notice a particular time the itching starts that might be a clue....maybe
after eating a meal? anyway, prior to finding out about the foods to avoid, I
would take a bath/soak in the tub with dead sea salts (they have wonderful

minerals the skin absorbs...especially magnesium) or epsom salts...lots of
magnesium too. Sam's club or Costco sells large bags of Arm and Hammer
baking soda that is an itch reliever also....when I got out of the tub I never
dried off....I just stood on a towel and applied a good lubricant...vaseline is
good but messy, eucerin is good too....if I were really bad I would take a
benedryl and sleep (Benedryl will make you sleepy so better wait til bedtime to take it)

Ice packs or freeze a large baggie half full with waterl
