Okay...
We all need a moment of levity every now and again. I signed onto the forums tonight to do my nightly reading and couldn't help but notice Steve's very interesting and unique signature box. I guess what really got my attention as a lifelong Red Sox fan was that he is a Yankees fan. Yankees fans have become invisible here in New England since this past glorious October. I then go on to read New York Yankees - 2004 American League Champions??? Huh???? Steve, did you watch that 7 game series back in October?? You know...the one where the Yanks choked, after being up three games to none and lost 4 straight??? That's right...that would make the Red Sox the 2004 American League and World Champions. I hate to call a fellow P member out, but some unsuspecting sports fan might go through life thinking the Yankees actually won something in 2004, and I couldn't live with that happening :)

May I offer my most humble apologies. It should have read 2003 American League Champions and 2004 Division Champions. Remember, the Yankees had the best season?

Ah, the Yankees! Finest team money can buy! Makes my spots itch just to think about how much they're spending on pitching next year!
Thanks for the correction Steve. And yes, I certainly do remember the 2003 season, as it was yet another heartbreaking season for we Sox fans. And yes, I am aware that the Yanks are going to be unstoppable this upcoming season but hey, their payroll is more than double that of their next closest competitor, so shame on them if they can't win! At least the monkey is off our back here in Boston, and no matter what happens this year or any year hereafter, we never have to listen to an obnoxious Yankees fan scream 1918 EVER again! :)

i know that i change teams steve but i like to keep people happy. when i was a kid we went to ny and philly all the time. in school i was the only one that could throw a ball over 300 ft and throw it 85 mph. i loved base ball till they went on strike. but that just me. so don't get mad. i have cards from the 1960 all the way up till the 80's. my son loves the yankees so we watch them. there unaforms will be made in my little town. i think thats neat.

Hey now, I'm not up up on sports much, but I do know that mostly East Coast teams are getting play in here. How bout us out west?
Our D-Backs won a Series not that long ago ya know! Now, just because all our good players (Randy Johnson, etc) are signing onto your eastern teams there doesn't mean our sports teams are going downhill! (pay no mind to the AZ Cardinals. We don't even like them out here!)
