Question:
Today, upon a bus, I saw a handsome man
And wished I were as handsome,
When suddenly he rose to leave,
I saw him hobble down the aisle.
He had one leg and wore a crutch.
But as he passed, he passed a smile.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two legs. The world is mine.
I stopped to buy some candy.
The lad who sold it had such charm.
I talked with him, he seemed so glad.
If I were late, it'd do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me, "I thank you, you've been so kind.
It's nice to talk with folks like you.
You see," he said, "I'm blind."
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes. The world is mine.
Later while walking down the street,
I saw a child I knew.
He stood and watched the others play,
but he did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said,
"Why don't you join them dear?"
He looked ahead without a word.
I forgot, he couldn't hear.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two ears. The world is mine.
With feet to take me where I'd go.
With eyes to see the sunset's glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.
This morning when I awakened and saw the sun above, I softly said,
"Good morning Lord, bless everyone I love."
And right away I thought of you and said a loving prayer, that He
would bless you specially, and keep you free from care. I thought
of all the happiness a day could hold in store. I wished it all for you
because no one deserves it more.

Hi Deb,
That was really nice. I enjoyed reading it. Thanks
Sandy :)
I am glad you liked it, Sandy! :)
DEB,,,REALLY,,REALLY NICE,,,EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS!!!!!
Absolutely beautiful! I was laying in bed just yesterday, listening to the rain, thinking how fortunate and blessed I was to be lying in a warm bed, out of the rain, next to the one I love, with plenty to eat and drink. And I had to say a prayer for all of those souls lost in Southeast Asia, and their loved ones. So many families will never know what happened to the ones that are missing. I cannot imagine.
Deb - that was beautiful
Sue - I thought pretty much the same thing yesterday. Sure my family may not have much money to buy things, but at least we're together, we have a roof over our heads, and we're safe. I feel so bad for all the families of the people killed in the tsunami.
Yes, I agree we are lucky! :)
i agree to. im thankful for what i have and i feel for those people over there. they found a young man had lived 7 days under his boat. that is so sad. i read alot about over there and it just break's your heart to here what they went though. i can't imagine what that was like and is now.
thanks so much for sharing those words. I will remember them when I feel whinie...
