I know we all thin the price of gasoline is very high but what about the prices we pay for other things. Here is a comparision:
New Jersey price of gasoline in my arear is $1.83 cents.
DIET SNAPPLE 16oz @ 1.29 = 10.32 per Gallon
LIPTON ICE TEA 20oz @ 1.59 = 10.17 per Gallon
CRANBERRY JUICE 16oz @ 1.25 = 10.00 per Gallon
BRAKE FLUID 12oz @ 3.15 = 33.60 per Gallon
VICK'S NYQUIL 6oz @ 8.35 = 178.13 per Gallon
PEPTO BISMOL 4oz @ 3.85 = 123.20 per Gallon
WHITEOUT 7oz @ 1.39 = 25.42 per Gallon
SCOPE 1.5oz@ .99 = 84.48 per Gallon
EVIAN WATER 9oz @ 1.49 = 21.19 per Gallon
And the buyer don't even know the scorce of the wate. Little note EVIAN spelled backwards is Naive.
So next time your at the pump be glad your car dosen't run on water, Scope or Whiteout, or God forbid Pepto Bismal or Nyquil.

I could only WISH our gas prices were as low as you all have mentioned...
I just filled up my tank for $2.25/gallon for Unleaded...and that is LOW compared to what it has been. I have paid as much as $2.46/gallon of Unleaded! Mind you i'm going to the affordable places...places like Shell and Chevron sell their Premium Unleaded for like $2.99/gallon!!!! :eek:

I paid $1.89/gal for unleaded yesterday and as I was filling it up I thought "Wow, finally cheap gas!"
HOW PATHETIC! Glad it's not Nyquil though..


I went home for lunch today, and as I passed by a gas station I saw the price for regular unleaded $1.69 and I thought, wow, I should fill up my gas tank before it goes back up. I remember when I first started driving and I thought $1.00 was too much to pay for Amoco Silver

You guys are paying pretty much nothing for your gas...try paying up to $0.94 / litre....that's right...PER LITRE. Which in your terms would be about $3.55 a gallon. And this is regular unleaded, not Plus($3.93/G) or Supreme($4.31/G). Anyone wanna mail me some gasoline???

Hey Shana wasn't complaining about the price of gas in NJ as a matter of fact it is way to low. We are lucky that the prices are the way ther are. But like good Americans we bitch and moan and thing everything should be handed us on a silver platter.

do you really think it costs $1.70 to refine somthing there pumping out the ground ? exxon profits are astronomical but they still have payed for the oil spill in alaska they still filling apeals.
the people in power get richer by charging what ever they want.
just like the meds . no way it costs as much as they charge. why cause they can . everything we have to have is over priced.our government use to stop things like that from happening buttttttt not any more.
those examples are fine but were not using 25 gallons of tea a week to get to work and back.

I wish gas prices were higher! I live in an affluent northeast suburb and every family has at least one Suburban, Navigator, Yukon or HUMMER.
That is outrageous- Mother earth does not have the infinite resouces for everybody on this earth to drive a huge TRUCK.
Our greedy selfishness, self rightousness, has caused is to be helpless pathetic junkies and you know who the dealers are..The Mideast countries.
People leave air conditioners on all day while at work so the house will be cool. That is frankly disgusting . Driving an SUV is disgusting. Talk about moral values. What kind of morality is it to just consume and consume without any awareness of the impact on our fellow earthings and environment.
Gotta go to lunch now- There's this great all you can eat buffet down the street....
I think gas is like $5 a gallon in Europe.


Well, I read an article a while ago, maybe a month or two, that broke down the gas prices for Phoenix. We pay on average 2.11 for unleaded. Something to the effect of .45 was for the gas and the rest was taxes and "distribution" fees.
There are cars that have been invented that run on water or alcohol, but we won't get into what "may or may not" have happened to the people that proposed the idea to the gas companies :D :D :D
And everyone that complains does have the option to invest in an electric hybrid, of course. I don't complain because I don't have 25,000.00 to buy a new car, so I deal with what I do have, and pay as I go.

The fact of the matter is we are greedy society. If we just cut back 10% on our driving the prices would come down and we would have ample supply.
Also our govenment should be charing surcharges for those who dirve SUV, Light Trucks, Hummers etc. And that surcharge should be huge. JKNY is right and before we know it the bubble will burst.
We are the great nation on earth. Be we are not the sole inhabitian of this world. But we are the world's pigs when it comes to consumption of natural resources. It time to slow down and live within our means.

Price of gas last week was $2.47/gal. in some part of San Diego. I need to get rid of the car, it's eating up about 12 miles per gallon.

Gas here just went down from around $2 to $1.69. Scares me......I'm sure after everyone makes holiday travel plans it will skyrocket!
