Hi guys. I have a new username. I think I used to be Danny. Annie, remember me? Hi Mitch and Karen and Mike and so many others. My computer crashed and it was devestating I could not get back here. Then I finally could and couldn't find the site! But here I am and things have really changed. Anyway, excited to be here. I got severely sick with Bronkitis and then pnemonia from using Enbrel. I was completely cleared and feeling good. Then got sooooooooo sick and then scared off Enbrel. Now I am full of P again. It looks like my fingernails are now being affected so no matter what I HAVE to try Enbrel again! I just can't go there with the fingernail thing! I remember seeing one of the magzines and an article on Steve and I thought hey! I know that guy. Well......sort of.... on this site that is. That was really cool. I also thought I saw Mitch or Mike or maybe both and showed my wife. She told me to relax but I was excited and kinda "proud" I kinda knew all you cool dudes. Well, better go now I am supposed to be working. I don't have a new home computer yet because I just bought a new home and have been refinishing hardwood floors and hanging new light fixtures and painting walls and well............I'm poor now so anyway...let me know how you are all doing!! I feel like Iam finally home again!

You must have been here before my time. Anyway, I had the same reaction with Embrel. Just bronchitis-took 4 months to get over it. Scared me away from biologics. I have the crumy-crappy pp on my hands and feet and had the worst flare of my life after stopping Embrel. :eek:

Welcome back, great that your posting again! I was wondering what happened to you!! Glad that you have access to the computer once again, and congratulations on your new home! :) ...
Regarding Enbrel, Happy to hear that it worked so well on you and eek sorry about the pneumonia...Enbrel can lower our resistance to germs ( as you already found out ) and sometimes these things can't be avoided...did you have the flu and pneumonia shot?? Now that your feeling better it might be a good idea before you hop back on your drug regiment.
It's always wonderful to read about those here on the site that you have chatted with for sure, I can understand why you were excited, I do the same thing when I get my copy of Advance...

Nice to meet you Dan. Glad you are able to get back on the boards. Sorry to hear of your broncitisis and pneunonia. I've been in a Humeria program and have been able to stay on Humweia after the program ended, but I ended up with 2 severe sinus infections and then went right into broncitisi myself now. I had pneumonia a year ago (before Humeria), so I'm watching myself with several different antibiotics given to me now. I did get the flu shot and the pneumonia shot.It's been over 3 months now since I've been able to go back to Humeria. Still not on it yet. I have P and PA and they are all flaring up again.
Granny--I've seen your messages and didn't know you had 4 months trying to clear up the infection. I'm wondering if I should still be thinking of going back on Humeria---everyone reacts so differently. I don't know what else to take as the PA has me already in a wheelchair.
I really enjoy reading all the information posted on these sites---thanks to all who keep posting. It's been great to be a member of the p family. Hope someone might know what med's might be best for PA if I don't go back on Humeria. We're going away for Thanksgiving but will be back on Saturday. Thanks to all and Happy Thanksgiving

I got bronchitis after getting on Embrel. Every time I go off my antibiotic, after 8-10 days I would get sick again. I finally stopped Embrel and got well. I flared so bad that it put me in a wheelchair. I have pp on the bottom of my feet. Soriatane seemed to help the p but gave me really bad pain like arthritis. My doc said he had never had a patient that this happened to. If I back off the Soriatane the pain goes away but the p gets worse. So, I am still using my wheelchair part of the time. I can not walk long enough to shop. I was able to get a scooter. It's been a bad summer.

Welcome back. I not only remember you but I was just wondering what happened to you. I even asked Kim if she had heard from you in chat.
Congrats on the house! I'm sure that you're enjoying it very much.
Sorry about the Enbrel. You might want to consider some other options such as Humira or Remicade. They're not approved for psoriasis or for PA yet, so you might have problems with insuance.
Now that you're back, please don't be a stranger. Hopefully you'll get a new home compute so you'll be able to join us in chat.
