1 down 4 to go. actually my P has me a little more driven "up down cycle, currently at pikes peak", plus I got a lotta pump from this board. It did not take much to get it going, just kinda finally dove in head first. Thank you for your response to the site Steve, and I appreciate input from anyone concerned.
Ultimately, this may be an exercise in futility, but I gonna drive ahead with it anyway.

Answers:

Also, if you respond to the site it's going to give me your email address. I can assure you that It is not some kind of trap or something. Just wanted you to be aware of that up front.

Actually, I will send you something Goeckerman...I'm not sure what, but I will get it to New Zeeland at my expense!
I was hoping that you might be able to find out if you have any intensive daycare type treatment centers in New Zeeland that I could add to the site. Just like it says, it is totally under construction and needs the support of people like you. In my research of the subject I found a center way down south, the language of the site was portugese and they were talking about PUVA in a daycare environment.
I also found and contacted the "psorialess foundation". maybee someone knows about that one. It's in france....I think I might start a new thread on that subject right now.
Anyway we are still 4 for 5, I'm sorry but i'm not couting you even though you are a winner!
Thanks for your input and let me know about daycare or goeckerman in NZ.
Brad

Truth is that Goeckerman is dead! You can't even get a list of providers from the NPF anymore. The NPF physicians list is inaccurate. At least 2 local dermatologist in the West Michigan Area list as offering Goeckerman. You should call their numbers and inquire. One of the persons I talked to didn't even know what it is. The other offerred for me to add tar to a light treatment regimine.
True Goeckerman or at least outpatient daycare is limited to very few and far between. U of M and Mayo and maybe a few others. Why beat a dead horse. Personally I think a trip to the dead sea is probably just as effective if you can afford it.
With insurance not paying and very few providing why tell people that they have a really good shot of clearing severe plaque in a matter of a few weeks.
BTW....thanks for the advertisment and your continued support of Goeckerman.com.

Brad,
I guess Goeckerman is dead, that link Goeckerman.com., leads you into the West Michigan Psoriasis site instead of goeckerman, where there isn't a whole lot of information on psoriaisis or psoriatic arthritis.
The only reference to Goeckerman is something that you wrote in regards to your not being able to obtain treatment without fighting your HMO.
I agree about the dead sea, I know a people who have done better there compared to those who have done goeckerman.
You still owe Steve a drink though, lol. :p

I've never met steve and have been to san diego, boston, and even manhattan. Anyway if I meet him eventually I will certainly buy him a drink. Maybe it's because I avoid the bars?
There is very little about the goeckerman anymore. The last inquiry I received was from a guy in Michigan that wanted "inpatient" goeckerman. I said why don't you want to go to U of M's outpatient? he never really answered.
From what I understand is that people would go out an buy hospitalization insurance well knowing that they could be admitted for goeckerman thus gettting a two week plus insurance payment out of the insurance company. I don't know if this was his case but why he didn't want the inpatient at u of m really bothered me.
If you go to the West Mi. Site I will tell you all you need to know about my experience with the lights. Feel free to see my doc too, that would be Brian Gerondale and his information is listed on the site.
As far as PA goes, Sue would be the one to contact there. She has a severe case and it has cost her her job and supressed a lot of her activity. She had a difficult time with her PA going to Boston but she weathered through it.
If you need the information you just need to look in the correct place. I think it is no different than here. I still don't understand why someone outside of Michigan would be interrested in our local dermatology situation.

Brad,
I won't comment futher on the bar situation other than to say, everyone in Boston seemed to enjoy themselves at M.J. O'Connors Irish Pub. ;) * cough * cough *

There have been links in the past to your Michigan psoriasis site, more recently one that had to do with the book that you are trying to publish. Other than that I would be inclined not to visit as I have read some things on that site that certainly are far from supportive and very unsupportive as far as the NPF is concerned.
I would hope that would not deter others from purchasing the book as the original intent was to have a book in honor of Jessica the Brave.
Karen :)

I was at the bar in San Diego, Boston, and New York.....problem was Steve wasn't! Now be it that I only drank in moderation. I had one at the bar in Boston and had soft drinks in San Diego and New York. I think I might have had one beer in Manhattan if I recall correctly (thanks FM). Truthfully I think I avoid the bars more in these cities since i can't smoke in them. And I suppose that is one good thing, the no smoking laws are helpful to me in that regards, I just wish they'd get rid of them completely.
Personally I think the smoking is no good for my psoriasis I guess just another reason to call for it's removal from society.

I guess that's because I mostly stay out of bars too - LOL!!!
If I recall, you told us you hid from us or me in SD though. Something about going stealth.

Answers:

Brad,
Instead of calling for a total ban on cigarettes why don't you just ban them from your life? Availability seems to be a rather convenient excuse to keep smoking. Banning them wouldn't stop the problem..especially for people in your neck of the woods since they will be able to make monthly trips across the boarder to buy the Canadian cigarettes.
A local morning radio DJ (FM talk radio) anounced yesterday that his wife has breast cancer....he started crying on the air, and rightfully so. They have small children and he said how worried he was for his children not knowing the fate of his wife. Her cancer was unpreventable. If for no other reason, you should keep your daughter in mind and quite for her.

Answers:

I think a lot of people would also be screaming about too much government. And who are they to take away their right to decide if they can smoke or not.
