july i go to a another derm. he is a rh derm. i want to see if the pain i get and pited finger nails is any other thing then p. how will he test to find out or is there no test. when i told my derm i had pain in my knee he said so do i. i said about my figer nails and toe nails he said my p did it to them. i don't know. can you give me some help.

The rheumatologist should give you a very thorough exam. There is no test for pa, but there are certain things a good doctor will look for. They should ask you lots of questions, and spend at least 45 mins with you.
They particularly look at your hands and nails. They will probably also do bloodwork to test for a couple of things. They may also take x-rays to look for any damage.
