Question:
Well, take me back down where cool water flows.
Let me remember things I do love,
Stoppin' at the log where catfish bite,
Walkin' along the river road at night,
Barefoot girls dancin' in the moonlight.
I can hear the bullfrog callin' me.
Wonder if my rope's still hangin' in the tree.
Love to kick my feet 'way down the shallow water.
Shoefly, dragonfly, get back to mother.
Pick up a flat rock, skip it across Green River.
Up at Cody's camp I spent my days, oh,
With flat car riders and cross-tie walkers.
Old Cody Junior took me over,
Said, "You're gonna find the world's been smould'rin'.
And if you get lost, come on home to Green River."
Creedance Clearwater Revival
You got it.
Have you ever seen the rain coming down on a sunny day?????? :) (good one Jor-El)
As a matter of fact, yes I have.........
Someone told me long ago,
there's a calm before the storm.
I know, and it's been comin' for some time.
When it's over, so they say,
it'll rain a sunny day.
I know, shinin' down like water.
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
comin' down on a sunny day?
Yesterday, and days before,
sun is cold and rain is hard.
I know, been that way for all my time.
'Til forever on it goes
through the circle fast and slow,
I know, and it can't stop, I wonder.

Several years ago I seen John Fogerty in concert at Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, CT. What a super concert that was.
John looked and performed as good, if not better than he ever did. The audience was going wild with applause. Great old tunes and I practically wore the grooves out on my CCR LPs as a teen in the 60s.
I dont think I knew the true words to those songs!!!
The lyrics to both of those songs were copied and pasted from a website devoted to the Credence Clear Water Revival band. In fact, there are many sites devoted to that band and most all popular bands.
Do a search with Google - Plug in the name of your favorite group. Chances are good that there is at least one website devoted to that group. Most popular bands have many many sites devoted to them.
You're right about John Fogerty's vocals on many of CCR's songs. It's often pretty difficult figuring out just what the words are. I went many years thinking that the lyrics to Green River were quite different than what they reallly are. For instance, the line that goes, "Pick up a flat rock, skip it across Green River." I always thought it was, "Give up your fast talk, keep it of course Green River", which doesn't make a lick of sense, but that's what I heard.
I was just thinking to myself how I thought one of thoses lines was something else.....ok, ready to laugh Jor-El????? The line:
"Til forever on it goes, through the circle fast and slow"............
I thought it was........."Til forever on it goes, you deserve a rest and so, I know....... lol, and that is how I always sing it (for years mind you) now I can sing the RIGHT words!! :) Thanks !!
