Hey Steve, seeing your a baseball fan I thought I's pass this along...Today Cincinnati had the big parade and the start of the Red's season... I heard that they won't be selling beer any more this season at the ballpark.....(groan) THE REDS LOST THE OPENER.....:( :( :( sorry I just had to say it.....:D
No beer???
What’s up with that?
Do they still allow gambling?
If I were you, I would convert to a Yankee fan at once!
No "burr" for shame....
Have fun tomorrow Steve, be looking for ya behind third.
I'm heading over to the Bronx in a couple minutes. Look for me behind A-Rod!
The Yankees announced today that manager Joe Torre has
signed a contract extension through the 2006 season.
In eight-plus years as the Yankees' manager, Torre has
compiled a 789-508 record, reaching the postseason
every year, and leading the franchise to six American
League pennants and four World Series titles.
Torre is only the fifth manager in Yankees history to
win at least 700 games, joining Joe McCarthy, Casey
Stengel, Miller Huggins and Ralph Houk. In all, Torre's
World Series record of 21-11 ranks him second among
managers appearing in at least three World Series in
terms of winning percentage (.656), trailing only
McCarthy. Torre's 21 World Series wins rank fifth
all-time
I just saw the AP report on the extension and it put a big smile on my face, especially that it was 3 rather than 2 years. I think that will help the team tremendously this year, since I think the uncertainty of Torre's future cast a pall on the team last year.
I prefer to think that George and sons just came to their senses. On the other hand, if he had not re-signed Joe, Boston would've set a world record for trying at least to hire a new manager. I would like to think that Torre would not have taken that job, but George won't have to worry about that now!
Of course, I'd prefer that they won today, but Boston got blown out as well, 10-5 by Toronto.
You are quite the cat girl!!!!
just remember the cloths that a-rod weres to play ball are made in bangor pa.
just trying to have fun
