Hello Everyone! Here I am a newbie but thats okay. I am a member of many psoriasis forums and clubs, but I still dont understand why psoriais even exist!? Well Let me introduce myself, My name is Jen and I have P & PA... I sound like I am at a AA meeting :D Any who how, I've had P for about 20 years now :mad: really sucks if you ask me. I am not going to give a sobby story, cause I am not like that Ill just give you a sad but sarqastic story well line! :p To make a long story short! I am 27 and I feel 1000 years old.. The End :D I hope to meet some nice and understanding people on here. I also like to have pen pals from the forums, because they know exactly what I am going through. So everyone be good and take care of themselves! :D

There does seem to be a lot of people on here from the west coast. I believe I am the only one on here from South Carolina.
Welcome Jen. You have to a wonderful place filled with great people from all over including the west coast. This is a place to share information, laugh, cry and vent. You are now part of that family. There is a lot information hear to read and share. We also have a very active chat room particully at night. Come on it and joins us.

I am 36 and understand your problem very well. When I look in the mirror and see "it" on my face, it looks unpleasent. This is nothing compared to seeing other peoples expressions when I first meet them. Most people don't mean to be cruel, it is just a natural reaction to something that is different than themselves. That said, it does not make it any easier to see these reactions. I know this is only words, but when something upsets me, I feel a little better if someone else realy understands what I am going through. If I can provide you any support in this area-let me know and I will try my best to help.
Hey Everybody! I hope everyone is doing well! Went to the derm last week and just found out all together combined I have P, PA, not too good of liver (methotrexate), and have skin cancer. But ya know what? I dont care! I have fully given up on trying to figure this out. So I am going to take care of my 12 y/o son and try to live life to the fullest as I can! But I might say that but its going to be hard. Thanx to everyone that posted a message it really helps alot. Hope to talk some more!

Sorry to hear you have so much going on right now, but you have a wonderful attitude. Get the skin cancer taken care of, and that won't cause you any serious problems as long as it is caught quickly. My husband had a chunk removed a couple yrs ago, and is doing fine. Debber also has some stories she could tell you. As to the liver, hope you are off the mtx now to prevent any further damage. Have you looked into the biologics? Some of us have had great results without the side effects of older drugs like mtx or cyclo.
Don't bother trying to figure all this crap out, just take care of it, do what you can, and live life for all it's worth. Leave the figuring to the "experts". You have someone who needs you. Enjoy every precious moment you have with him. Soon he will be a teenager, and mom won't be "cool" anymore. :rolleyes: I speak from experience having 2 of the creatures living in my house: my son is 14, and daughter is almost 13. Sometimes they are scarier than all the rest of this stuff! ;) But they're mine, and I wouldn't trade them for anything....well, not today anyway.....

Ya I know what you mean! Sometimes I just dont understand where he is coming from and like you said its scary. Good boy but I think he has been hanging around mom too much :p (he is a goober) But he is taking this all very well.
I thank God that my son has grown up to be patient and have consideration of people. I beleive with myself having a disorder that I cant help and him seeing how people look and stare at me, makes him a better person everyday.
Sometimes I just want to sit some people down and educate them on psoriasis. Because I know when I was in high school and even grade school, people thought it was contagious. There isnt much I can say, but crap when kids stare at you thats different they dont know any better at that time. However, when an adult sits\stands there almost in your face talking about "what does she have all over her body" "what is that stuff" why is she out walking around" "I dont know what Id do if I had that ugly stuff" Have had P for about 20 years now and it still gets to me, just because people are not educated.
Well, sometimes when I post messages I am happy, but then you'll see one thats all gloomy. Its me! Just the same crap different day. I am happy to a point, but also depressed. So when you get a very depressing post from... SLAP THE HELL OUT OF ME AND TELL ME TO CHEER THE HELL UP!!! :D
Kim! You take care of your creatures.. Hey you said that your "creatures" are living with you, thank god that they are living and not zombies! Sometimes mine is a zombie and he is only 11 PS2 & Gamecube freak. :D That was a joke hope ya got it.. kinda tired.. Kimmy, I'm so proud of you making that statement. That tells me you are a very nice & thoughful person. I only have one, but I wouldn't trade him for the world. He is one of a kind, extremely good to his mother. I love him more than life itself. I wish I had

Went to Estee Lauder today to put in a order (father in-law works for Estee!) I was fortunate thank god their prices are outragous. But anyways I hope everyone is great!
By the way I use Luxiq (rx moose) on my face for the psoriasis and acne and I honestly swear by that stuff now. It works! K guys yall have a Happy Easter...:D

Hey Guys! Like I posted a little awhile ago I stated I was using a mouse called Luxíq... Oh my! I can wear make-up again Its Great!!! I also been using some lavender lotion lol ( janay ) For some reason it works well.
I have went to Walgreens and Longs to buy make-up to test certain colors and brands to see what is better (here in Ca if ya dont like the color u can return dont kow if thats everywhere) And I found alot of the products dried my skin out and made it worse than better. But I know someone that works for Estee Lauder and I either get it free (if the price is right ) or half off. So I tried their make-up and its wonderful.
The only thing I can say is going through mostly every post I found out alot about peoples remedies and I have tried them. Some of them didnt work, but hey we are all different.
So I am happy to say My face is Psoriasis free! But my body isnt lol
Well gotta go hope to read some more post!
