Through these message boards I have met 3 people with psoriasis who live close by to me. One family has become good friends and I even got invited to their daughter's wedding last year!
Now this is funny - over the years that I have been getting the NPF Psoriasis Magazine in the mail, on 2 separate occasions I received stuck to mine somebody else's NPF Magazine who lives in my town. Of course, I hand delivered their magazine to their mail box with a note attached with my contact info if case they ever wanted to chat or exchange e-mail. Alas, I never got a reply from those 2 people whose NPF magazine got delivered with mine, but I can see that people would be wary of strangers or maybe they already had all the support they needed hahaha.
THE HANDS-DOWN BEST WAY TO HOOK UP WITH PEOPLE IN YOUR TOWN - is to quiz your hairdresser. Hairdressers and barbers know scores of people who have psoriasis. You can print out some cards or bits of paper with your first name and e-mail address and a brief hello and give them to your hairdresser to hand to their customers with psoriasis. I also leave my read NPF Magazines in the magazine racks at the hair salon.
