There are times when all my old reliable ways of removing blood from clothing, sheets, etc. fails me miserably. I'll bet that we all have a thousand ways of getting the stain out of various types of fabrics. Help, I'm about to throw out at least 3 shirts!
and oxy them,,,,,,for good measure add some "ALL" liquid detergent to items and let soak in a basin or small tub,,,,for at least an hour if white,,,,,,,,for colors I would use same technique only don't soak as long,,,,,,,,,,
You should always do this as soon as possible,,,,,,on fresh blood,,,,don't know if it will work on previously laundered items....but I would try rather than throw them out....
here's some suggestions i found on google:
Blood Stains in Clothing
Blood stains in clothing need to be removed as soon as possible. Use cold water and wash out the stain. Hot water will set the blood and it will be difficult or impossible to get out.
The following is a suggestion sent via e-mail from "R". Thank you for your addition to this page!
"Hydrogen peroxide is the absolute best for removing blood stains. The fresher the easier of course, but even dried blood comes out with a little effort. The hydrogen peroxide seems to do no damage to any fabric I've tried it on."
Another suggestion from Wanda is to use Adolph's unseasoned meat tenderizer. Rinse in cold water, then sprinkle on the tenderizer and let sit for awhile and rinse again. May have to be repeated.
annie did you see (on "you stole that picture" thread) that I lightened your pix last week? hope it was ok to do....I love working with Photoshop and did it there.....its a graphic arts program but Irfanview works well too....which is what some on here use.
Yes, I did see it. It made me smile. My hubby loves his digital and all the things he can do with it. Thanks for all the hints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Annie try peroxide! It works for me sometimes...And I have not tried it but I saw that Clorox pen on T.V. and if it is all white I bet that would work great!
I use irfanview and I like it pretty well..
Hi Annie---I personally use peroxide and 90% of the time the blood will come out. If it doesn't come out all the way I then use Shout gel before laundering - I will also check to make sure that the stain came out before I put in the dryer because the dryer will set the stain and make it harder to come out.
easier to just throw them out and buy new ones. If the not, another optionis to cut around the spots and throw the spots out.
Last option is buy only red sheets and then you will never know if the sheets are stained or not.
Ha-ha isn't that just like a man.........however it is a good idea come to think about it.....more shopping...more clothes..... yippee!!!:D :p ;) :)
1 Attachment(s) I think Mitch should fund our shopping trip, After all he encouraged it.
Thanks for all the hints, everyone! You just save my husband a fortune!
Love,
