Question:
How do express your condolences to a family for the lost of a love one you never met. The passing of Beverly Foster Halprin a woman I have never met nor really didn't even know her name name till yesterday but who actions and deeds have touched my life and made it more tolerable and better.
Ms Foster Halprin was the driving force for the founding and growing of the National Psoraisis Foundation. Although stricken with this aflection she did not sit idley by but tried to make life better for those who share her condition.
We who suffer with this dreaded disease or condition or whatever you call it knows what a great sourse of comfort and information the NPF has become. I like so many others take so much from this sight that I could not put iinto words what it means to me.
From NPF role as advocate, both with the govenment and the drug companies to the distributionof literature, to helping our fight with our insurance companies NPF does it all.
And last but not least is this web site where I can come for information, comfort or just vent. The chat room where I have met some really amazing people and have actually gotten to met a number of them. To the friends I have made along the way.
I guess what I am trying to say to the Foster Halprin family is that Beverly Foster Halprin life touch so many of us. We never met this wonderful person yet her passing leave a void in our lives too. We hae lost one of our greatest advocates. One never know who life they touch in their day to day interactions with people. The family of Beverly can take great pride and I hope some comfort in the fact that she helpedso many and we are for ever greatful.
To the NPF please pass along our condolences to her family and let them know how much she touched our lives. I say thank you for allowing me to benefit from her remarkable life and that her deeds have made my life just a little easier to cope. She will be in my prayers.

My deepest sympathies go the the family as well. I too have benefited greatly from the NPF. From the publications that began my quest for knowledge regarding the condition that we here share in common to this web page that furthered my knowledge and provided endless support during the long bumpy road that psoriasis brings us.
We tend to look at existing organizations, such as the NPF, as already existing entities that we currently benefit from. We can easily loose sight of the fact that this organization was started by someone's sweat and tears.
It is not easy to comfort or to be comforted when a loved one is lost, but what greater legacy to be left than an organization that helps countless people in so many ways to be remembered by.
Please let the family know they are in my prayers too.
I am very grateful to this woman I never even knew existed.
Maybe some day in the future, we could have more information about her. I'd love to hear more.
Please and Thank You for passing this on.

I knew that Ms. Foster - Halprin founded what eventually evolved into the NPF. She sounds like a remarkable woman. What a wonderful legacy. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this difficult time.
Here's a link to her obituary from The Oregonian: http://www.oregonlive.com/search/in...l?oregonian?lch and one from the Statesman Journal: http://online.statesmanjournal.com/...ary.cfm?i=18889.

My heart and prayers are with the family and friends of Ms. Foster-halprin. She was a very amazing woman, one that has left an inprint on many lives. I am thankful for her contributions and her dedication to the teachings and understanding of psoriasis. Many of our lives have been greatly impacted because of this incredible woman.
Respectfully yours,
My prayers will include Ms Foster-Halprin as well. I would like to believe that once in heaven all people will come to realize how many prayers and good thoughts were sent on their behalf. I have a tear in my eye when I think she is becoming aware of all of your wonderful thoughts of her, a person we never met. God bless her and God bless you all.
Had a women never taken the time to get up and get involved, I would probably suffered in silence breathless for 20years more than i already have.
It is because of her advocacy that the NPF was able to be, and through that these boards, i feel like a fish who has just discovered the ocean.
With that i would like to thank each and everyone of you. Though there will be some i will never meet, your contributions are greatly appreciated.
And to Mrs Beverly Foster-Halprin,
THANK-YOU for founding the waters that so many of us desperately needed.
Take care and smile
