Thanks for the birthday wishes! Haven't been around that much lately. One of my best firends is going through a parent's worst nightmare. She and I have been friends since HS and her daughter had a cancerous tumer resting on her pelvic bone that was found 18 months ago. She went through a year of radiation and chemotherapy. Last April she was given a clean bill of health, but continues to go in for regular bloodwork. Last week her bloodwork came back way out of wack and they did cat scans but nothing showed up. Monday they did a bone biopsy and found her to have bone cancer! (she is only 14yrs old) The whole family immdeiately went down and everyone was tested for a possible bone marrow transplant. Her platelet count also was down to 9 (normals are 130-150) so they gave her two units of blood. Yesterday, they rushed her back in due to 103 temperature and found her platelets to have dropped down to 6. They spent the whole day trying to infuse 4 more units, but her veins kept collapsing. They also have diagnosed her as having acute myeloid leukemia. The poor girl is suffering so badly, and my friend is going through true devistation.
Anyone that can say a quick short prayer as they read this it would be most appreciated.

So sorry to hear about your friend...as a father of a 2 and a half your old son (my little angel).....I can say that is defintely a parents worst nightmare. As an outsider to these tragedies we want to say something or do something that will make things better or at least help in someway, yet we find ourselves helpless. i will definitely have this young girl and her family in my thoughts and prayer!!


I will remember your friends daughter in my prayers....

I don't know how to wish you a Happy Birthday at a time that your friends are going through
this with their child, but I do wish you a birthday wish that this poor child will pull through this with
flying colors and that you have many Happy & Healthy years ahead of you...

I will keep your friend's daughter and her family in my prayers.
Everytime I hear one of these tradgies befalling a family I thank God for the health that my family enjoys. Your health is, to my way of thinking, a momentary blessing that you should thank God for every day that He blesses you with it.
Please let your friend know that there are many people here keeping her daughter in their thoughts and prayers. Hopefully that will give her a little comfort in this most difficult time.
