Problem!!!!
Ok can anybody help me here---
Everytime i try to get int o the chat room I have a blank page-
even though it say there are 5 people in chatroom.
Am I doing something wrong?
Nothing wrong at all.....we asked Webmaster Eric to keep you out of the chat until you made it to one of the NY/NJ gatherings ;) .... Just Kidding.....but I had to take the shot :cool: .......I'm not all that computer savy so I can't help you unfortunately, but if you ever need help turning on a monitor or finding the space bar, I have those 2 things down!! All joking aside...hopefully someone will be able to assist you so you can join us in the lovely chat room.

When I click to enter chat my page area is also white, seems to last for about 30 seconds... not sure why it does that...needs time to process and prepare for entrance I suppose.
Sorry you're having trouble ...hopefully the webmaster will see this thread and recognize those symptoms and help solve it.

Actually I am very advandced on computers -I am a graphic designer/Art Director at a PR firm and I spend appox 12 hrs a day on a Mac--I also do some private repairs & installs on the side. So i think this may be a web problem (or a comaptibilty from pc to Mac- it happens all the time).

Hi Tara,
Chat is run on your computer by a program that is a java applet. Assuming that you're already a member, you might be experiencing a delay as the chat applet is downloaded to your computer. If you have a slow connection to the net, this might take some time. I also see a white screen while the applet downloads, but I have a DSL connection, and it only lasts for a few seconds.

edr- I have tried my connections from both a dial up (at home & a Dsl line at work) I use a Mac ...it may be that!
I also tried yesterday from a pc at my office No luck.

Check your java interface with whatever browser you are using.
This puzzle site is a good one for that purpose.

If it doesn't work and you are using Internet Explorer, check the java control panel and internet options control panel (under advanced tab) to make sure that java on IE is being handled by the sun-microsystem java program (assuming you have it ; don't know whether it has a MAC version.) IE has a java type function called Virtual Machine which can act kind of hinky sometimes, at least in the Windows world.
If the puzzles work, try using a different browser, such as Netscape, Opera or MyIE2. MyIE2 is a shell program that puts IE webpages into one window with tabs. (I don't know if it comes in MAC.) I've had java applets work in MyIE2 which will not work in the basic IE. Opera and MyIE2 are free, except that Opera using adware unless you buy the registered version.
I use Opera and MyIE2 as my browsers and have no trouble accessing most java applets.They are both excellent browsers.

Hey Guys, Can anyone instruct me on how to send a "whisper" message in the chat room?
Annie if you click and high light some ones name on the right of the chat room so that just there name is high lighted and type something and send it, it will only be sent to that person, no one else in the chat will see it.
Hope that was clear if you want to test it or need further info just ask me next time we are in chat.

WHAT????? You mean everytime "---------- whispers to you" came up in the chat room, no one else could see that???? Well shoot, that means when I replied everyone could see my reply-------you guys must have thought I was off the wall, replying to stuff that wasen't even there!!!!!!......LOL....man I never knew this. I did often wonder, "how'd they write: whispers to you"....gees...duh!!

an iMac & I used to have problems getting into the chat room. When I want to go to the chat
room, I'd click on the "community" that's on the orange tool bar above, it'll take you to the "Community Overview" page
then right by the
words "Message Boards" it says "Chat Rooms". Click on the "chat rooms" there & then hopingly it'll
take you into the chat room. However, you have to be logged in. Try it & I wish you luck with
it. I hope I explained it clearly to you. If not let me know. In fact, let me know either way O.K.???
