just introducing myself
Question:

hello all,
first time visiting this site. nice to know there are people who can relate. i know not a single person who has P, so it will be cool if I have questions. I have not had insurance for a while, but it starts in about two weeks. I'm trying a new derm, maybe this one will get it right. Any new drugs that have been miraculous for you? i last did puva and just don't have the time to visit 3x a week.
thanks for being here!

Hi Jennalynn!
Welcome to the Board! You've come to the right place. A lot of very nice and helpful people post here. It's also great to FINALLY be able to ask questions, exchange information, vent, or even have a couple of goog laughs with people who truly understand. :)
Good luck with the derm. Although I wouldn't wish p on my worst enemy, this is actually an exciting time to have p. There are so my new treatment options available to us. (Here's a link to the NPF's discussion of them: .)
The one thing that you might want to look into is a home light unit. (As you said, who has time to go to the derm three times a weeks for light treatments? ) That way you'll be able to do your treatments at your convenience. You might run into some insurance issues, but the good news is that the NPF has an insurance advocacy service, which will try to assist you in any way they can. (Here's a link: .)
Hope this helps. Good luck. Keep us posted and please don't be a stranger.
