Question:
Just trying to find something in common other than P related things LOL. I drive a Sportage with a 4" Lift kit!
Have a hyundai Santa Fe...not the same, but Hyundia and Kia are owned by the same...not sure which is the parent company though.

Definitely close. Kia used to be their own company. They went under and were about to get bought out by Ford when Hyundai stepped in and said I don't think so...we're keeping this company in Korea. So as newer and newer styles arrive on the market, Kia and Hyundai will start sharing parts. :D :p
I used to drive a 2003 Hyundai Tiberon. I really liked it. However, my wife and I are expecting another child and it would have been really, really hard trying to get a car seat in the back seat of that thing. :eek:
I drive a Chevy Impala now (and I really like it, too). :cool:
Actually both companies have an interesting history. The Korean government decides who builds what as far as vehicles and lets out contracts to the individual companies and really has most of the control of them both. I have worked closely with both companies in the past and been in both plants. We supplied all of their test equipment and did a lot of vehicle testing when I worked for MTS Systems a few years ago. I was not aware of Ford bidding on either company. GM has imported many of the Kia models in the past and they were known under various nameplates. From what I remember, they were both put together very well and I loved working with the people there.
