1 Attachment(s) Hey Mike,
Hubby and I have gone on a few cruises. Which cruise line were you on? We mostly use Princess, but have had a nice cruise on Celebrity also. :)
Marcie Very good question actually.
A cruise sounds so relaxing, or is it?
It can be EITHER. The passengers decide if they want to go to shore at the ports of call, if they want to do excursions like snorkeling, tours, etc. and they decide how many of the onboard activites they want to participate in. Our last cruise was a relaxing one. We didn't do much of any ot the above, but enjoyed the shows and of course the FOOD! Did a few of the activities, but not as many as usual. Then we've been on cruises where we did almost EVERYTHING and found ourselves exhausted! But it was still fun.
I'm anxious to find out which kind MikeK decided to do....either way I KNOW he's having fun!!
Please tell us about it when you get back, Mike?

Hi Everyone!
Wow! What a send off. :) Thank you VERY much. :)
I got home late yesterday afternoon. I had a wonderful time. I ate too much and despite the use of sun screen wound up with mild sunburn on top of my feet. (That's one of the places where I have p. (Sigh!)) Fortunately, I caught it in time. I was with a group of 44 people (most of whom have known each other for years) that ranged in age from pre-teen to senior citizen. (I made some new friends and was also part of a sub-group that the bartenders christened "That group from New Jersey!" :o Party over here! ;) We took turns buying, so my bar tab wasn't that bad. LOL!) We're all still speaking to each other. ;) (There's a core group of about a dozen people who've gone on nine cruises together.)
Yesterday, was back to reality. We had to deal with a host of blackout related problems ... it took over two hours just to clear security in Miami, there was an eight hour flight delay, and what has to be the longest ever non-stop flight to Newark... we went West then East then North.) To add insult to injury, I came home to a pile of laundry and a fridge full of suspect food. (I haven't talked to any of my neighbors yet, but my parents tell me that we lost power for 16 1/2 hours.) I cleaned the fridge before I left, but I am concerned that the frozen stuff may have partially defrosted during the blackout. (Sigh!)
Molly: Would you believe that I haven't been to Martell's yet this year? I avoid it on the weekends. Too crowded. June was cold and rainy and it rained almost every Friday in July. (Sigh!) Summer is almost over. I have to make up for lost time! ;) I'll let you know.
Barbara: This was my seventh cruise. I always go with a group and we made a decision early on to go with Royal Carribean so we can take advantage of their frequent cruiser program. (I.E., We now can use Express Check-In and they moved us up a deck without charge.)
Maric: Barbara pretty much said it all. It depends on both the itinerary (last year's cruise was kind of hectic because we visited five islands in seven days; this year's was cruise was more relaxing because it was only three islands in seven day's) and on the individual. I always travel as part of a group. We're usually just together at dinner. Some people go to the beach or hang out by the pool. Others sightsee or go shopping. I usually go to the beach. After dinner, I go to the show and then hang out in one of the lounges. (This year's ship was so big that they had both a piano bar and a jazz bar and I spent a lot of time in both.)
Thanks again, everyone. It's great to be back.
