Question:
Hello All,
I was in one of those "why me" phases last night, and flipped on a cd that i put together of songs that make me smile or give me hope, and got to wondering, if anybody else has a particular song that u listen to when u feel down particularly about your p? One that will always stop making me cry is "gasp", "Hold On" by wilson phillips. Although it's about a relationship, i relate the chorus of the song to my P. And it makes me smile. :)
So if anybody has a song that makes them smile, please post it here! I'd love to see what is "theraputic music" (as i call it) for others!! Smile!
Bella
I know this is sick but Beautiful Life by Ace of Base always uplifts my spirits a bit. I also listen to my Duran Duran Greatest Hits when I feel down. Nothing like the band so nice they had to name it twice to lift my spirits. 80's music in general always makes me smile. Lately, I don't know some of you have heard it, but that Camel Toe song by Fannypack always makes me bust out laughing. It's terrible, but soooooo..... amusing at the same time. -Taryn-
Hey girl,
Como estas? (How r u?) I like that song as well. Funny but I have never compared or related a song with my P. Or at least I can't recall at this moment. I'm a music LOVER. I Love ALL variety of music styles. If there is a passion in form of art I love it's MUSIC. It takes me places I've never been before or even to the ones I have.
Take Care,
Nena_Taina
ps: curerntly listening to Vanessa Carltons "A thousand Miles" Bellsouth Internet Radion - Channel Current Soft Hits.
I like a lot of things - depends on my mood. I have ecclectic taste in music. Two of my favorites are Alanis Morsette's Thank U and So Unsexy. I also like That I Would Be Good, Can't Not and I Was Hoping. Wow, I guess I like most of her stuff.
When I need cheering up, the first band that comes to mind is Smash Mouth. Their stuff is just so much fun!
I like just about anything from Michael W. Smith.
His songs are songs of faith, hope, encouragement, etc. Music is good for the soul!
I don't have a song I listen to when I am down about my p...But I love music and I download a LOT of it...I love the oldies and country...Music of any kind cheers me up!
I have to agree with khorath and debber_1; MWS and country are cool, esp. Faith Hill.

I always listen to The Clash when I need to feel empowered and uplifted.
I love all types of music!
LynneHella: I LOVE Alanis!!! She is SO awesome!
khorath: I like Nicheal W. Smith too!
When I'm really down, the christian band MercyMe always makes me feel better. Of Course their "i can only imagine" song makes me want to cry, but i'm in love with their music! They are a truley awesome band (you guys should check them out if you haven't heard of them already).
I have so many "make me happy" songs! Music is such an important part of my life! Music always makes me feel better, doesn't matter what kind it is :D!
LEAN ON ME
GREAT UPLIFTING SONG ALL TIME BEST
"I've Got You Under My Skin." lol

there is NO question in my mind.............Stand & Deliver
So now we're discussing the meaning of life? Music & Love? Ok...
This is why I feel creating music is better than just listening to it. I play how I feel and I always come out of it with a big sigh of relief.
Although when I'm not manipulating my moods myself, I'd have to go with:
a) TOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
b) Cool Cool River (Paul Simon) - great song
c) anything and everything Zeppelin
d) been listening to a lot of Coldplay lately too
e) Gods Jimi, Eric & Stevie (ummm, that's Hendrix, Clapton and Vaghan) - Gotta have a daily dose of Jimi to keep the blood flowing.
... and of course... on any given day... at any given moment... in any given mood... there is one band that will drive all your troubles away and put a smile on your face - the Grateful Dead :)

pminear--awsome picture ROCK ON!!
oakrai (steve)--coldplay has caught my attention as well, they are soooo good....Clapton, Hendrix and Vaghan all eclectic and electric! :)
Taryn-- who doesn't love 80's music? Did you see that VH1 "i love the 80's?" Loved it, love the 80's...
and the 70's
easier put I LOVE MUSIC!
Insane Clown Posse if I feel down. John Lennon or Elton John if I feel stressed and Ozzy and The Grateful Dead all the time!
1 Attachment(s) I watched every single episode of I love the 80's! I am excited to see the return of the 80's toys in full force. You noticed that? Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, Transformers, and best of all My Little Ponies. I am going to stock up on those for when I have kids in a few years. My daughter will have ponies! -Taryn-
P.S. I'm such an 80's fan that almost all my ring tones for my new cell phone are from the 80's, mostly Depeche Mode songs. :D
Roxy (taryn)-- i am still waiting for she-ra to make it back in full force...luvin all the 80's stuff, got plenty of shirts with characters from the 80's, and even have a HE-MAN table tray that rocks! :)
If legwarmers make a full come-back it's on!!! :D
Going to the conference? If u r see u there!

I'm currently listening to Jason Mraz. Anybody else like him?
("1000 things" and "You and I both" are my two favs)
Journey is my feel good band. Anytime, anywhere.

You can't listen to Fats Waller and not laugh. The guy was a genius, both as a pianist and entertainer. Any ragtime is good, and yep, a lot of '80s music works, too. I can't listen to ``Tainted Love'' and not sing along, much to the distress of anyone who is with me at the time.
STYX—no.1 always and forever.
There are too many to name….But anything metal from the 70’s & early 80’s
Nugent
Satriani
Deep Purple
Pink Floyd
Queen
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Rush
(just to name a few)
Worst and most over-rated
Beatles
Stones
:D
The Eagles are the best band ever. How could you leave them off the least, especially when I discovered today that we are the same age?! That is just too frightening!
Remember that family history you were going to tell me sometime? I think we need to talk. I'll be expecting a looong PM from you! By the way, when is your birthday? Mine's coming up September 22nd.
I have to say the rest of you also have mostly good taste in music. I also enjoy most kinds, and have rather eclectic taste from classical Tsaichovsky (spelling?) to more current pop artists like Avril Levigne, Smashmouth, etc.
I love the pic of Adam Ant! Yes, I still remember him, but whatever happenned to him? I have a very good friend who was an absolute nut about him!
