Question:
Hi,
I watched Dancing with the Stars last night for the women and tonght for the men. Does anyone else watch this show? Tomorrow night will be the elimation of one.
What do you think of all the stars this season and who is your favorite already?
Sandy
OMG! I'm so glad you watch too Sandy! Is Albert the cutest thing you ever saw? He's like 15 years old, but he is soooo cute! And I thought Sabrina did really well, but that was a little unfair since she is a dancer already. And let's face it Jane Seymore, Marie Osmond, and Wayne Newton won't be able to keep up with those young men and women.
Who do you think should go home?
Glad to hear you watch it too. I thought alot of them were really good. I'm wondering which one will go home tomorrow.
The guy tonight---the race car driver I thought was really good. The girls Ithought most of them were all good--Jane Seymore really looked like she was enjoying herself and Jenny was good too.
Maybe the model from the girls will go home?
I LOVE Dancing with the Stars! I took 15 years of dance lessons, one of those years ballroom, so I find it soooooo much fun to watch. I believe Josie Moran, the model, will be the first to go. She really didn't have it together...and historically, female models don't do well on that show.
HOW OLD WAS THAT MALE MODEL??? He HAS to be older than 15...but I can't believe he's not older than that Cheetah Girls chicka...dang, he's hot AND funny, that's a good combination.
The race car driver did really well at the foxtrot...but I will be interested to see how he does sexier dances....I liked Cameron Mathison, but then again I'm a big All My Children fan. Floyd Mayweather surprised me....
Here are my predictions so far:
Josie will be out tomorrow.
Wayne Newton, Marie Osmond, and Mark Cuban may not be far behind.
Mel B. will get serious and do very well.
The male model will never get very serious, but he still may go far.
Jane Seymour will probably go far because she is so elegant.
When I was taking ballroom, my partner's name was Bob Evans and he was a Baptist preacher/farmer's son. He accidentally let go of me and threw me into a wall when we were doing swing dancing!! Everyone who likes to dance should try ballroom, it's fun (IF your partner's having fun too!)!
I agree with you Peggy. I think Josie will be the first to go. Floyd will have to really pull it together to be able to stay in it. Although I think he has a better chance of going on in the competition then the older three. (Gosh, I'm saying older, but they are the same age group as me! And Marie and I are probably the same weight!) Jane does look elegant, but those fast Latin dances are going to be very hard for her. She is still very pretty though, isn't she?
Ok, tonight's prediction: Josie Maran will be the first to go. (Sorry Josie!)
I really liked Sabrina Bryan, Heilo Castroneves, and Albert Reed. I'm thinking they will be there at the finals. Let's see how it goes!
Peggy! You didn't get hurt did you? I can't dance. I wish I could, but I can't. I've always wished I could, but it's never going to happen at my age!
No, I didn't get hurt. I was 18 years old, 10 feet tall and bulletproof--I was unstoppable. I DID think it was a conspiracy though...my dance instructor was this tiny little older gentleman who loved his Pall Malls...when the class stopped laughing and I stopped rubbing my shoulder, he wanted to show good old Bob Evans how to do the step correctly. He had the music started up, then he started to throw me around...he was all of 5'3" tall, and I was 5'8"....we get to the exact same spot where Bob let go...and the instructor let go too! I landed on my derriere that time! He said it was my fault, but I don't see how...I wasn't doing the throwing, I was being thrown...
Sad thing is, I couldn't swing dance now if you held a gun to my head. My hat is off to Marie, Wayne, and Jane--they are so brave (and in good shape) to even try this.
Oh you better believe it! I wouldn't even attempt to dance at my age and you can forget wanting to get on stage and do it in front of America! They are real troopers. My sister says it's in their training as actors, but Mark Cuban isn't an actor. His only claim to fame is his ability to make money. He cracked me up when he was writing down the steps. That is so typically "computer geek" it isn't even funny!
I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't like Floyd Mayweather's attitude towards Karina. I bet he doesn't give his fight coach that kind of attitude.
I was also surprised at how Wayne Newton appeared uncomfortable on stage. I thought he would be more relaxed on stage. He's been a performer since he was four years old and before they went on he admitted he was nervous. That was really surprising.
Was Carrie Ann cute when she wasn't able to speak properly after Albert's performance? That was so funny! Oh and I looked up his bio and he is 22. Ok, so he isn't 15, but really, he is very young!
Well, I have to stop playing here and get to work. <sigh> It's terrible how life get in the way of playing isn't it?
I'll be back later. I can't wait for the results show tonight!
Fay
I'm looking forward to the show tonight too. I also think Josie Maren will be going home tonight.
Yes, I thought Wayne Newton looked terribly uncomfortable and very nervous. He said it was on of the hardest things he's done and was nervous before dancing last night.
I can realate to the dancing too. I took 13 years of dance ( ballet, toe, tap, jazz, baton, and ballroom) I taught ballroom in high school and graduated from dancing school with correographering my own ballet dance to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" I can't even walk today and am in a wheelchair full time, but I have lots of wonderful memories.
I'm so glad to chat with you two about the show as no one in my family watches it.
Albert is a cutie and sure had Carrie Anne speachless.Has the cheeto girl done dancing before. She really moved!
Sandy
Yes the Cheeta Girl is on a Disney Channel show called The Cheeta Girls. 6 - 12 year old girls LOVE them! They dance and sing little "Hip Hop" songs. Clean ones. :D
I envy you girls having had a dancing day! I never had a lesson, but I would have loved it. I can't dance to save my life! I dance around the house and the dogs jump on me! :D :D They are the only partners I've had that don't make fun of the way I jump around. One of my sisters said I was the most uncoordinated dancer she ever saw. :o Oh, I take it back! I've gone to Aerobic Dancing! That was so long ago. Do you remember that?
Well, I'd better go make dinner. I want it behind me when the show comes on.
Fay
Well, we kinda knew it would be Josie. The next round will probably be harder to predict who will be going home. I felt sorry for her partner. I know they don't get paid after they get voted off. It makes the pro partners work hard on the celebrity to teach them how to dance though. If the pro didn't have a stake in it they might not care much for the ones who have to struggle to learn the dances. He'll be back for the next season.
That was fun! Let's keep this tread alive! :D
Ok, so...I understand why Savion Glover was on...he's a dancer, but not ballroom...and that guy's little bit on the history of dance, I understand why that was on, too...but what on earth did having Dolly Parton on that show have to do with dancing? And is she real, or animatronic? Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against Dolly...but she is starting to look like a large plastic doll...
Can't wait until next week! Any bets on who will be off next?
I predict Wayne and Mark need to be very nervous...
I think we all predicted Josie for the one to be voted off. She said she didn't really exercise much and and her strength wasn't strong enough to keep up the dancing. I think it's always hard to be the first one voted off.
I'm not sure who will be voted off next. I heard last night on a talk show that he predicted Marie Osmond as the next star off. I doubt it though.
This morning on the Today show, Josie is going to be on and chat---guess she's also going to predicted who she thinks will go all the way to win. I'll jump back on and tell you all what she said.
Sandy
I think you are right Peggy! Wayne or Mark. Do you vote? I guess I didn't vote right. I went on-line and voted for my top pick down to the least liked one, but my daughter said she gave her favorite three votes, then voted for a couple more. Her mother-in-law gave all her votes to one person. The thing is next week we will be voting on the whole group. That will be harder. I can't believe I'm struggling over how to vote in a TV show poll! I can't imagine what I'm going to do when the presidential election comes around! Politics!
I tried to vote for Sanjaya Malakar but they wouln't let me
just kidding.
My wife loves this show, and tells me all about it up until the final weeks, at which point I will try to sit down and watch it with her. I am always amazed at how well these non-dancers perform.
For about 14 years, I had the opportunity to perform onstage in my daughter's annual dance recital (father daughter duet), and although the steps were basic, and the need for athleticism almost nil, that experience makes me realize how amazing it is that these non-dancers can perform at such a high level, in front of a national audience. I have the upmost respect for those that participate in this show. It is hard work for the pros, and even harder for those that are out of their element.
Someone PM me when there are 4 couples remaining. :)
LOL My wife will have that covered!
Ok folks...what did we think of last night's episode? I'm getting ready to go to the doctor this morning to get checked out...I've had frequent headaches, my joints ache terribly and my skin is taking a turn for the worse. I'll throw my two cents in later...just wondered what you all were thinking out there.
I thought last night was really interesting. Isn't Helio something??? His dance last night was amazing...He was doing really hard stuff for week 2. And didn't Cameron look incredible in those pants??? WOW he's got a great derriere!! Marie Osmond really tore it up too, don't you think? But Wayne...poor Wayne...I thought we'd see some improvement with him this week, but that was the slowest quick-step I think I've ever seen!!!
So, who are you impressed with? Who just didn't cut it? And who do you think will be eliminated tonight?
Hi,
I tought Helio was really great. He isamazing for just the second week and seems to be enjoying himself so much. I really like his partner, she's so cute!
I kind of think Wayne will go home tonight, He really didn't do too well with the dancing. He's a great entertainer and I really like him, but I don't think dancing is one of his strengths. He's also so nervous about it all.
Marie O was really good. She is really enjoying herself too.I enjoyed watching her.Can you believe she's the mother of 8 children!
Cameron is always cute. His partner is Etteta is married to the guys that danced with the model that was voted off last week. I found that out during a talk show.
I wonder who the judges will pick to redance their dance number tonight?
Tim, I wish you would talk Don into at least watching one or two shows with me.
Sandy
If I was betting, I'd bet Helio will do his dance again tonight. I know Sabrina got really high scores, but come on, that's because she is a dancer already!! And besides, she did it last week... I think she really will be able to do all the different dances well...but will she win it all? Kind of unfair, isn't it? But I guess you could have said that about The Fatone last season...and he lost at the very end to somebody who showed tremendous improvement over time.
Yep. I'm waving bye-bye to Wayne tonight...Mark Cuban MAYBE, probably not though....
I have to agree. It will be Wayne or Mark. I'm guessing it will be Mark, because Wayne has more fans.
I thought Helio was excellent! That's what you like to see. Someone who has never been a dancer be able to do these dances.
Marie was good and Sabrina was awesome, but I still say they have an unfair advantage. I can't wait to see the results!
Okay guys---are you all as shocked as I am?
OMG!!!!!! Can you believe it? It had to be the fan base for Wayne. There is no other explanation! I wasn't able to vote. They server was unavailable until I went to bed last night and voting was closed when I got up this morning. What a shocker!
you could watch cheryl's face last nite and see the shock. the fan base probably had alot to do with it cause i hadnt even heard of him till dancing with the stars . marie is "kicking heels! thoughts do go
out to jane seymour and her family .to bad her mom could,nt have seen her all the way through. , but so glad she is staying and beening back next week. helio is the one to watch out for! mandy
The fan base problem is the only reason Albert lost this week. He was waaaaayyyy better than Wayne or Mark. I was shocked and dismayed...I really liked him, and voted for him a couple of times!! I'm going to miss him! I was hoping he'd stand by his word and dance topless if he got to the finals!! He had a great sense of humor and he was goofy...I like that in an extremely young, extremely handsome man.
Everyone, If Wayne goes on to another round tonight, I'm going to believe my hubby that the show is rigged! I think Cheryl is really ready to throw in the towel.
Looking forward to the show, staring in 10 mins!
