FINALLY!
Question:

I've waited for so long to hear these few words, "We have your paper work, you're in the appeal on August 2nd."
Ms. Keating finally called me today to tell me that she has all the information that is needed for my petition to get accepted into the community college down by my parents. It only took what, 2 months?
Seriously...I was parinoid that they'd lose my paperwork, or not get it to Ms. Keating on time. I called Ms. Starson (an advisor) who is the main reason why all this is figured out (this woman, is amazing!) She's the only person who seemed to know what the hell to do...the only person that told me the proper phone and fax numbers, proper procedures, and made sure that the papers that I faxed were not only recieved but brought to the proper person (the Dean of Admissions.)
When I called Ms. Keating yesterday afternoon she stated that she had yet to recieve my paperwork, and that if she didn't recieve it by Thursday, July 26th, that I would not be in the Academic Standards Petition on August 2nd. I called Ms. Starson immeditaly to see where the paperwork was at...the Dean was supposed to sign it, but he wasn't answering his phone. Ms. Starson called me back and told me that the Dean was out of town, but she signed it and it was on it's way to Ms. Keating. She told me to call her by Thursday to double check that she got it.
I was still worried. What if it got lost? What if she never got it? What would I do? Well, Ms. Keating called me about 30 minutes ago to tell me the good news, "I have all your paperwork. Everythings in the clear. Just arrive on August 2nd, at 1:30 in Building 19 in Room 130."
I'm so excited!! I shouldn't have a problem GETTING accepted to the school, I mean I'm only 0.04 points away from the 2.00 that they want. Plus, I'm practically begging them to let me go to this school (even if I don't really want to attend THAT school). I know I can't be picky...because BCC is only 20 minutes away from my parents house, plus...I can't afford NOT to be in school...if I'm not a full time student I can't remain on my father's health insurance. If I'm off his health insurance I need to figure out how to make 3000 dollars a month. Even at working full time, right now at least, I only make about 1400 a month.
So yeah. Sorry I rambled a lot. I'm a little excited (plus I had my meds, and a NoDoz a bit ago...so it's making my hyper.) ^.^

AWESOME!!!! This is most definitely cause for celebration...well, maybe we ought to hold off until the final-final decision is in and you're cleared for registration and/or already registered for classes.
Might I make a suggestion--that is, if you hadn't already considered it? How about sending a Thank You card (like as in, an honest to goodness physical card she can hold in her hand :p ) to Ms. Starson letting her know how much you really appreciate her help and how very important her "going the extra mile" was for you. All too often, people's extra efforts go unrecognized and it's little tokens of appreciation that make a world of difference.
This is such great news. Keep us posted on your progress!
Cheers,
DianA

That actually sounds like a really good idea. I'll bring it to her personally when I go in next Thursday. Perhaps if I get on her good side now, she'll help me out the next year and a half with school, what I should take, and transferring BACK to USF once I get my A.A.
Who knows. And of course I'll keep you updated.
God dang, I'm tired today...and the cold is getting worse. Ever get that dull ringing in your ears, that just doesn't seem to go away unless you drown it out with loud music, or constant noise? Yeah, I have that...it's kinda annoying, and is making me a bit dizzy.

Better keep yourself in good health!! We don't want you to have to miss this appeal due to taking ill! Rest up, take some meds, drink LOTS of water.
Be well,
Diana
