I posted this on the other thread about this show in "Emotional support and coping techniques" and wanted to scoot this over here to "conversations"....
As I mentioned on air, I have been an active member of the National Psoriasis Foundation by attending conferences, any local support group meetings I can make with my busy schedule, and attending Capitol Hill Day. When I first joined I only posted here on the boards...it truly didn't make a difference of accepting, understanding and living with this chronic skin disease until I attended my first conference. The people here are amazing people from (like I said on air) a 14 year old in North Carolina (sweet Dee) , to a 50-60 year old (wink wink Mitch) in Arizona...! Listening to all of their stories and just knowing we are not alone has helped me tremendously emotionally. So many of my friends here on the NPF, go above and beyond as far as speaking at CHD, leading and starting up support groups, and answering any questions people have here on the boards....they have all been inspiring to me...I felt speaking on this show was the least I could do as far as "doing my part".
:) :) :) you all have been such an inspiration to me...you are all my "family"...it was an honor to speak on this show on behalf of the NPF and all of you....and as Frasier Crane used to always say...
