Question:
Just curious how many of you have pet insurance and who would you recommend ??Do you think it is worth it and have you had any issues with yours??
This is something I have been meaning to look into as Biscuit is getting older and may face problems later on , she is 61/2 . And we have a hard enough time with all my medical bills let alone having them for her !!

Hi...I may not be of much help to you but do remember before my cat died that our own vet offered insurance to us. Since we did not pursue it I don't know if it was a company of some sort that they used or what.
Have you called your vet to see if somehow they offer it? I do believe I would have had to go through my vet and fill out papers.
Since my cat had "the record" in their files of thinking he was king of the universe and was treated for so many wounds was the reason for them offering it to us.
You are so right in your thinking that the bills will be tremendous later in your pet's life. It might be worth looking into.

Hi,
One of my good friends has pet insurance, evidently there are MANY policys to chose from.
" muffin " was not covered for major eye surgery as they said it was a pre-existing condition....kind of like US! :( geesh! so it set her back over a thousand dollars.
It does help offset costs of shots which as you probably know will cost over 100 dollars, so it's worth it to her. Also her dog somehow fractured her tail! It's a lil dog so she thinks one of her kids stepped on it, that particular appt was covered along with meds.
I agree with Juniata...our pets are worth it!

Thanks Juanita and Karen!! Awwww poor doggy with a broken tail-that made me cringe in sympathy !! My vet is just about retired ,Biscuit was his last "big" dog.He has a small practice ;in fact come to think of it I have never seen any other "patients" when we go in !!! Thats not a bad thing .. I will give him a call and see what he recommends.Wow , fancy pets getting hit with 'pre-existing condition' I also thought that was reserved for US !! LOL !!
