CHD '07
Question:

I am so glad I went to CHD.
I put a lot of faces to names.
I learned a lot more about how the NPF works, and learned a lot more on how the Government works.
I hope all that went had as good a time as I did.
ALSO......... Thank you all who help ring in my Birthday on Saturday night (Sunday morning).
I feel like I have a new family now :-)

Hello,
CHD was great for me as well. I got to see old friends and make new ones. I think that it is a great learning experience, and like you said you get to see how our government works.
I'm glad that the weather held up on Monday. Sunday was a terrible mess for my DH and I driving in it, but we made it.
I'm glad that you enjoy yourself, and I will see you in Vegas!!!
Take care,
Diane

I was disappointed I didn't get to see that video this year. I was looking forward to it.

Oh yeah.....
Some people had requested me to send them some of the pics I took.
If you will PM me your email address, I will send them to you.
Also put in your real name, I may not know the user name, and or visa-versa.
I may also put some of them up on my website.
If you want to check www.web63.com/chd in a few days, you just may see yourself up there :-)
Thanks,

CHD rocked! People with psoriaisis are down to earth. I don't have nearly as much fun in my day-to-day life. It was great to see so many new faces. Julio, I like the graphic you made of 1188. Sweet.

I think the pictures deserve there own thread. I will have some pics too. I just have to make the pics smaller. Everytime I download one to the site it tells me my file is to large. Even though my pics are already half there original size....

Hi All,
It was great to see the alum's, but even better to see so many new faces. Alyssa said we were about evenly split, old and new. This was by far the most exciting CHD I have attended, and I have been to them all. It was so exciting to have a piece of Legislation for Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis on the floor of the House, with a good chance of having it introduced on the Senate floor as well. It was so much better than asking for "specific language", or even a Resolution.
In looking back over all of the years, I wonder if maybe we haven't gotten to a bit of a standstill with attendance. The second year, we doubled participation from the first. The following year we had half again as many more, all good progress. This year we had basically the same number of volunteers as last year. While there was greater representation in the number of states visited, it is not enough to go to 29.
Maybe everyone could think of ideas of ways to boost attendance to over 200 for next year and post their ideas to this thread. We need to have bigger numbers in person, and on Call In day as well. Anyone who has ever been to a CHD event knows from the experience that the squeaky wheel does indeed get the attention of our legislators, and we need more squeak!
I look forward to reading all of your creative ideas!

Hi,
If your looking for ideas to boost attendence may I suggest that the date be moved to a warmer, less harsh one.
I know that some people were " stuck " in airports all over creation. One very upset person from Boston in particular comes to mind. In 2006 when we left for DC we were hours late due to snow and problems with the aircraft, we had to de-ice a few times....when I went a few years ago in the spring it was clear sailing so to speak...
I know of the importance of going down earlier in the year as the early bird catches the worm... ;) I also realize that it's probably less expensive to do this in the winter months rather than the Cherry Blossom time of year.
Also the need for heavy duty advertising waaaaaaay ahead of time..and actually year round which I know will become a priority now that we have a bill in the offing.
Thanks to all who attended, tried to attend, called, emailed on behalf of not only themselves but others who suffer.
