Hi smw1203,
I'm right next door in Hoboken. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any "good derms" in Hudson County.
There's two derms in Hoboken, but unfortunately I don't know anything about either one of them. I recently discovered (by accident) that one of them is mentioned by name as participating in a clinical trial for Raptiva (click here). It appears that he may also be participating in a clinical trial for Enbrel, although you have to call a toll free phone number to find the names and contact information of the doctors who are participating in that particular study (click here). Even though I know nothing about this derm, I am encouraged by the fact that he participates in clinical trials. His office is located a half a block from St. Mary's hospital. It's about a 15 minute walk from the Path Station. It's about the same distance from the 2nd Street Light Rail Station. Here's his name and contact information:
Adolfo Fernandez-Obregon
Hudson Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center
10 Church Towers (4th and Clinton Streets)
Hoboken, New Jersey, 07030, United States; Recruiting
201-795-3376.
My derm is in Scotch Plains. Her office is a very long walk from the Westfield train station. I like her, but she's made it clear that she'll refer me to another derm if my psoriasis gets to the point where more aggressive treatments (including UVB) are required. Here's her name and contact information:
Robbie Beth Drossner, M.D.
2350 South Ave.
Scotch Plains, NJ 07076

Flakey Matt's derm helped him get through two bouts of erythrodermic psoriasis. It doesn't get worse then that. Matt doesn't post very often so there's a very good chance that he won't see this thread. His derm is in Verona, which is not that far from Willowbrook Mall. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to get there via public transpotation. (You'd probably have to take the Bloomfield Ave bus from Newark Penn Station.) Here's the name and contact information for Matt's derm:
Daniel Groisser, MD
60 Pompton Ave
Verona, NJ 07044

Here's a link to a thread where Matt discusses him: .
If you don't mind traveling into the City, you might want to seriously consider seeing Dr. Mark G Lebwohl. He's the Chair of Dermatology Department at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He's also the head of the NPF's medical board (). I've met Dr. Lebwohl at several NPF functions. He seems like a nice guy. He's the doctor that I would see if my psoriasis ever gets to the point that I need to start treating it aggressively. Here's his contact information:
Dr. Mark G Lebwohl
5 East 98th Street (Between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue)
New York, NY 10029
212-241-9728
http://www.mountsinai.org/common/de..._ID=459&alpha=1.
The closest subway stops are either 96th street or 103rd street on the No. 6 train on the Lexington Avenue line.
I hope this helps.
Mike
