Question:
I hope that someone remembers me.........it's been forever!
We have a competition scheduled the weekend of December 15th in Long Island, so we should be there by the 14th for about 5 days!! Yeah.......... Hopefully we can get together....that would be so awesome. I can't believe it's been two years!!!! Time still flys.......geeze..............I miss you all.
That's awesome, Pam! :cool: I already sent Matt an e-mail. We'll have to start making plans. The only thing that might get in the way is that that's the weekend before my 50th birthday. :eek: I have a sneaking suspicion that my family is going to be throwing me a surprise birthday party (they got me for my 40th) that weekend. So we'll plan a big get together (and spending a lot of time together) but I may not be able to make the big get together. :rolleyes:

Mike Mike I can assure you that a surprise 50th is not being planned because the directions that I recieved to arrive at a NYC location that I cannot disclose, on the evening of Dec 21, clearly indicated that I should not bring a gift. Doesn't sound like a party to me :rolleyes:

These get togethers are a guaranteed good time!
and meeting new friends is always an added bonus.

It's beginning to be a tradition. I've been there the past 2 years and just can't see missing it this year. Going to have to see what kind of miracles I can make happen with the finances though. :eek:
Tim - please refer to several old threads (Mike, help me out here please) about the emotion that came over me during my first visit to the City during the Holidays. To say it was overwhelming would be an understatement. It was so great having my P family there with me for those special moments.
Pam - what a reunion it will be!!!

Hyatt Jersey City: http://jerseycity.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp. The Hyatt is located adjacent to the Exchange Place Path station. The Colgate ferry and the Exchange Place Light Rail station are both about a block away.
Sheraton, Weehawken, NJ: http://www.starwoodhotels.com/shera...propertyID=1177. The Sheraton is located in the Lincoln Harbor complex in Weehawken, NJ. It's adjacent to the Lincoln Harbor ferry (which does NOT run on the Weehawken. The hotel runs a shuttle to the Port Imperial ferry which is about a mile and half North of the hotel. The Lincoln Harbor light rail station is about two blocks from the hotel.
There are some hotels located adjacent to Long Island Railroad stations. I'm not as familiar with those, but that's also an option. The Long Island Railroad runs 24/7 seven days a week.

Mike - if I'm not mistaken the fam and I stayed at the Double Tree last year. It was a nice place and reasonably priced. We took the ferry last year because mom couldn't (wouldn't) handle the trains/subway. That won't be an issue this year if I make it there.

What usually happens is that a group of people get together -- either before the main get together or after it -- and go sight seeing in the City. That means the tree at Rockefeller Center, the store windows, the ferris wheel at Toys 'R Us, etc., etc. I usually play tour guide. Unfortunately, I cannot commit to anything this year. As I mentioned, this weekend is the weekend before my 50th Birthday. That's the same weekend that my family got me for my 40th. I already told them that I don't want a party, but, my family doesn't always listen to me. :rolleyes: So, I'm going to have to play the entire weekend by ear. Sorry about that.
