It's only September 20th and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Question:

I stopped by my local Macy's on my lunch hour today (9/20/06). The entire store -- from top to bottom -- is decorated for the holidays! They start earlier and earlier every year! What happened to halloween and Thanksgiving!?!?

I couldn't agree more...my son and I were in Walgreen's in August and there was Christmas stuff out already. I know it was August because I said to my son..."it's not even September yet and they've got Christmas stuff out already."
In 8 days my year is officially over anyway. My son turns 11, then Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas and finally new years...It's all down hill from here.

I liked Thanksgiving when it was it's own Holiday not Christmas part 1.

Costco has it's first shipment of lights and deco in, and it's toy seciton has tripled in size. *sigh*
On the plus side for me, it reminded me I need to get my butt in gear to crochet an afghan for my friend's daughter for a Christmas present....

I saw a news story in August on how some merchants are using Labor Day as the catalyst for their Christmas and Holiday stock-ups and displays. So if you think about it, the retail holiday season is officially 1/3 of the year! SICK!
