Question:
WE have antoher hurricane coming for us. They dont know were its going to make landfall, but we all need to be ready. My thoughts are landfall anywere from Homestead to jupiter. Then going up the east coast of the U.S. Good luck everybody.

The fam and I are as prepared as we're going to get. We've got water, batteries, tanks of propane for the grill, and all the other essentials. The shutters will be put up this evening, not because I think we need them, but because our association requires them be put up. Better safe than sorry, I guess.
Personally, I'm not too concerned about it. Although, I know it means the power will be out for an undetermined amount of time!!! :eek: Guess that means mega OT for you, Dennis. Hope you and your team work fast, but stay safe.

Yeah, this one took me by surprise. Some of the projections have it missing me, though the weather will be rough no matter what.
I don't think this one will be too terribly bad though. It doesn't have a lot of open water to cross before it hits land.
I've never been in a hurricaine while living in an apartment. Any suggestions?
I should probably get all that crap off my patio.... Hmm.. :)

Oh yes, the joy of patio clearance and shutter installing. My knee is trobbing already and the hurricane isn't even on us yet. Well at least I may get candlelight dinner. :D

Taking care of some last minute things here at work. Bad weather is expected to begin around dinner time tonight. I don't expect it to be too bad.
The only given is loss of electricity...

All buttoned up here. No cold showers though. propane hot water tank. My work acrually let us off at 11:00 to get ready for the storm. Good luck everyone. I will try to give updates during the storm as long as my dsl is up.
I have a generator that runs my whole house, so as long as it runs I will be doing good.

So far this tropical storm is being lame. Thank God!
And just as I type this it is starting to thunder. whoops. I still haven't seen what I'd consider a wind here in Miami.

Hey all,
It's just after midnight and I'm heading for bed. So far we've had nothing but rain. We've had summer thunderstorms that were worse than this has been so far. I don't even expect the power to go out at this point.
Thankful this turned into nothing serious. Still, be safe though.

its 6:00 in the morning and thw worse rain came at 2:30 a.m. But like jen said nothing major just rain.

Glad its nothing too bad. Glad it's getting out of there..but can you steer it off a bit more? Looks like we are getting hit by it (thankfully after it hits SC...).

It hasn't really arrived here yet, but I did get some decent sleep courtesy of it's outermost rain bands. :)
Glad it didn't turn into a hurricane,,,,,BUT,,,,,look out Carolina!
I am far enough inland that we usually just get some wind and rain. But as everyone knows, the wind can do damage!
It's really pushing clouds this way,,,,we had some very nice rain last night,,,,we needed it.
what a bust this storm was. One thing that I couldn't beleive was two days ago people started calling the radio stations to see were the free ice and water would be. The talk show host just said why cant you go buy it it two days before the storm hits. i just cant believe people cant be prepared. I do understand certain people may different financial problems. But if they call from there cell and complain about a gas line. They should be able to fend for thereself. Just my vent
