Question:
I need help. My 4-1/2 year old is in the "young 5's" program at school (basically pre-K). He needs to dress up as a nursery rhyme character. I can't think of anything to dress him up as or where I could find an appropriate costume. If anyone has any ideas/suggestions what to dress him up as and where I could find a costume, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks
I have the same problem... why don't you go to the mall and see if they have a hallowen shop? Maybe you can dress him up like a spider(Itsy bitsy spider) or a cow(cow jumped over they moon)
What about Humpty Dumpty? That might be cute! :D I don't know where in the world you'd get a costume though. I always go online for things that I have no clue where to buy them!! Maybe you could do the Jack guy from Jack be nimble Jack be quick rhyme...? He could hold a candlestick :D
How about "The Farmer in the Dell "?
Karen ( pre-k teacher :D )
how about one of the 3 blind mice..........????? or maybe you could find two other kids to join in and make the trio??? :D
Humpty dumpty would be cutE!!!!
take care and smile
bells
Sue, none other than the big bad wolf. I'll huff, I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down! You could also do one of the bears. How about Johnny Appleseed, It's apple time in michigan that might be appropriate.
After are last meeting, however, I would think he would be good as the wolf. Sorry just had to throw it in. I would consider my daughter to be the wicked witch of the west on some days to... I think thats what kids are all about.
Has he made a suggestion? My daughter always knows what she wants to be, maybe its a girl thing.
LOL Brad, you're right, the big bad wolf would be perfect for him. He's a stubborn little cuss. He wants to be Bob the Builder (again), I tell him he can't and he gets mad at me. Think I'm going to have to call his teacher and have her give him a call.
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I have no idea where I could find any costumes for them. Think I'm going to have to try & be creative.
I know, dress him up like a big slab of PIE!!!! LOLOL!
Jack & Jill is easy...an outfit that looks like a boy in the Alps (shorts, suspenders, knee highs and hiking boots, a hat and a bucket)
Peter peter pumpkin eater can be a pumkin outfit, usually easy to find or borrow.
The Ants go marching...easy to make with a tube of black material tied at the ends and in two places in the middle and stuffed, black long sleeved turtle neck and tights, black shoes, black gloves, antennae out of a black head band, pipe cleaners and black balls or pom poms.
Hickory Dickory Dock is a long cardboard box decorated to look like a granfather's clock with a fake mouse glued to it's side, holes for arms and legs, hole for head with clock numbers painted on face and arms of clock coming from black tip of the nose.
Three Blind mouse is an easy mouse outfit with granny glasses.
How's that? Can you tell I had 2 busy children once???
Wow Annie, that's quite a list. I'll run those by him and see if he likes any.
Hey diddle diddle is cute. Make a cow costume with a big card board box moon!
Thanks
