Ice pack or Frozen burrito???
Question:

A brief rundown...
Jen came away from the conference with $10, and I came away needing medical attention. Next time, I am going to shadow Jen so some of her luck will rub off on me!
We were out enjoying the wonderful Portland weather when...all of a sudden, and out of the blue... Eric tripped me and Steve pushed me right smack down in the middle of the road. Boom - I went onto the hard pavement. (Actually neither Eric or Steve had anything to do with my falling down, I am just too embarassed to admit that I tripped over my own feet.)
I could tell that I hit both palms of my hands and my knee. So, we went into a store to get some ice. Unfotunately, there wasn't a ice making machine so quick thinking Steve grabbed a frozen burrito to put on my hand. We continued back to the Saturday market (even though it was a Sunday) with my frozen burrito. The wrapper ended up impeding the cold, so I removed it. I looked lovely with this burrito resting in my elevated hand. The heat from my hand defrosted it rather quickly. Once it started to cook, I saw some people eyeing my burrito as a tastly snack. I beat them down.
I generally have a high tolerence to pain but I kept bitching about it my hand. My flight left at 12:20 that evening and my hand was vascillating between shooting pain and numbness. I slept the entire plane ride home - from before take off to touchdown. When I got to the airport, I got into my car to go home. My "hurt" hand by this time was swollen and ..you know how it goes white? Well it hurt. So, I go to drive and evidently I had messed up my other palm also. The same place that I grip the steering wheel was killing me and made it difficult to drive. I also had a huge egg on my knee and I had pulled a muscle in my sholder. (I didn't realize this the night before since the other hand was masking the pain for the other things.)
Well, stuborn me does go to the doctor's and he says that I didn't pull a muscle. It was a tendon that I had jacked up. He called it a certain name but it means nothing to me. He also said that I probably fractured my hand.
Well, I FINALLY got my x-ray results back yesterday and...NO FRACTURE!!! It STILL hurts like hell and is still really swollen but it is going to be OK. I also can't use it very much but it will get better. Now, if I can only get rid of the traveling bruises, I'll be in business!
Toodles everyone and thanks for your concern.

Rhonda,
You know, I was wondering what ever came of that burrito. I really can't imagine the slimey, once-frozen tortilla getting gooey on your wrist. YEGCH!
Good to hear that the you hadn't fractured it! I guess you still really did a number on it though. So, egg on your knee, burrito on your wrist...what next??? You're becoming the human smorgasboard! :p
It was so great to see you again! Hope to see you soon again in SF! Abby and I and hopefully others will take ya to Vietnamese or the Stinking Rose anytime ;)
Much love,
Diana

Seriously, glad your hand is okay, I honestly thought it was broken with the immediate swelling and technicolor going on.
