Angels
Question:

I know that some of you know about my "pennies" from heaven. I have a new twist to my story and have to share it.
A little history.....When my sister Joanne was dying, she and I watched the movie "Ghost" together. During the movie Patrick Swayzie (who is the ghost) sends a penny to Demi Moore to convince her he is who he is. Upon watching that scene my sister told me that she would send me pennies to help me along and let me know that she was watching over me. You would not believe how some of them and how many of have miraculously appeared.
Present story....I have a patient whom I have fallen in love with. He is elderly and has cancer. His wife has Alzheimers and just recently his children have helped him to realize he can no longer care for her at home. It broke his heart to let her go. He called just to talk to me the other day. I lent him my ear and my shoulder.
I knew when she was leaving and I knew how depressed he was so I kept his phone number with me. I called him the other day and it made his day. I felt so good about helping him that I popped in to visit with him. We sat and talked and the conversation sort of made its way to my "pennies". When it did my patient's eyes began to swell with tears and he took my hand and led me to his bedroom where there was a single penny on his dresser.
He told me that in all his life he never felt compelled to pick up a penny until the day that he met me in the office. After leaving from his visit, he found the penny and just knew that he was going to be all right and that me and my dh were the reason. We both were crying at that point and he told me that he was totally at peace with what was happening in his life.
Dh and I are going to visit with him this afternoon. He called me yesterday to say that something profound happened (with respect to the penny) and he wants to share it with us. I have found a wonderful new friend who feels more like family. And having lost all of mine, this is quite a treasure for me.
I believe in angels.
XOXO

Thanks for sharing that story. It's really heartwarming. I remember the " penny " story well and think of it everytime I see one laying on the ground, I always pick them up now.

that angels do exist. we don't understand how they operate as our science isn't that good yet, and actually probably will never be. There is a lot of documentation of angels visiting earth and even specific individuals.
Of all things, and many of your probably know this already, Lucipher is a fallen angel. There is a lot of documentation of Lucipher....aka Satan. His presence is pretty obvious sometimes.

Brad, with all due respect, I wouldn't mind if the devil was left out of this thread. If you can't help yourself, go ahead, as I truly respect everyone's right to post what they like be it antogonistic or not.
Now back to my sweet patient.....we spent a lovely evening with him. He presented my dh with a lovely dinner jacket that was 15 years olds made of English silk. He wanted doc to have something special. He shocked me with a record collection of 40's & 50's LPs in their original jackets. I mentioned once to him how my sister loved this music. No matter how hard I protested he insisted I accept the collection.
The more we talk, the more we find some wild connections and coincidences. I am exactly four years older than my husband. His wife is four years older than himself.
This lovely gentle human being has served his country all over the world, retired Navy. I feel so lucky to have found this angel.
Hey Joe (Patchsigns), come on in and post. I miss you.
XOXO

I have some mighty unusual penny stories following what Annie had posted about her lovely sister a few years ago... And I use those stories to help teach my students in my religious education classes.
But, Annie... the most unusual story happened to me in February of this year...!
Not only did a penny fall out from the inside roof of my postal truck.... that's right.... I said inside roof.... when I took it back to the post office, I used a magnifying glass because it was such an unusual penny.... it had the image of my mother on it and not where the image of Abraham Lincoln was!!
Now, I work with a lot of very no nonsense postal workers and they looked at what I saw and they were baffled!! But one thing is for certain, they got chills!!
And that is the most unusual penny story that has ever happened to me.
...The first penny story that I had happen to me, was a little after your first posting, Annie.
I think you have to be in touch with the spiritual side of you, in order to get these and other types of "messages"....
But anyway... I believe.
Blessings,
Joe

Annie,
I'm so glad that you and your new friend have found each other. Although I don't have any specific signs or anything symbolic, I know that there is someone special looking out for me. I've had way too many near incidents that I have somehow amazingly avoided with no explanations. I don't try to explain or understand them. I just know that they are. I hope you can both bring each other the happiness and peace that you all deserve. I know what a caring individual you are, and you deserve someone else as caring to share that bond with, and that you can also give comfort too.
I believe.

Dearest Annie,
Thank you for starting this thread. Thank you, also, Joe for your addition to Annie's story. And thank you, Nemo, for bumping up Annie's original pennies from heaven thread!
My mom always picked up a penny, saying it was my late grandmother's way of letting her know she was looking over her. Course I always laughed about her doing it. Now, since my mom passed away a few weeks ago, I've thought about her penny saying quite a bit. My sister and I have had many long conversations about things we thought were little "signs" from our mom. I've actually started to question the faith I always thought I had. One minute I have that faith, the next it seems to be missing in action. Anyway, the point of MY post is that since seeing these threads of yours Annie, I am unexplainably feeling somewhat better. Your newfound friendship is beyond touching and your original post that Nemo bumped up brought tears to my eyes. And Joe, I envy you also! Your penny story was overwhelming! By the way, Joe, your faith is contagious :)
I don't know how or why, but you have ALL brightened my day with your stories and caring! (Hey! Perhaps that means I actually, really DO have the faith I thought I lost these past few weeks :) ).
Love each and every one of you!

There are no coincidences, ONLY GODINCIDENCES.
I believe too. So much so, that many of the rooms in my home ar decorated in angels, and I collect them. And as you can see, my avitar is angels. They are everywhere. your story reminds me of a former patinet I had too, many years ago. He had oral cancer. The bond we built was strong. People are put in our lives for reasons, and always in my case......it was when the student was ready the teacher appeared.
This experience is good for the soul. I think you are just as much his angel as he is yours, and your sister is making it all happen-after all who better understood youthan her?

Annie, I had absolutely no intent to be antagonistic with my post. It was just a point that there is a lot of evidence out there that Angels do exist, another creation of God.
Your story is just another example of things that occurr and are happening that go far beyond our science, ability, and understanding. This stuff happens all the time but since it is not completely understood, it's often pushed off as coincidence, quackery, etc....
Annie, there are most likely people on these boards that would debunk your story. Without hard scientific evidence, how can such spirituality occur.
To make my story short it takes Faith. It doesn't mean that one is a quack to believe this stuff, I think it just means that the people that don't believe are just lost. These people have an agenda of science and extreme pride in human knowledge.
People need to humble themselves sometimes, to understand how this stuff works. I believe that God often humbles us to get us going in the right direction.
Good story Annie.

Hold on to your hats!!! I recieved my sweetheart's PSA level today. I might add that my dh was wearing the tie today that our patient gave him last night (a tie he wore 15 years ago). His PSA level (prostate cancer screening blood test) went from the dangerously high level of several months ago to an absolutely normal level of that of a young man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Lupron shot worked unbelievably well. I don't know that I would have been capable of giving him bad news. I don't suppose getting so involved with my patients is a healthy thing for me. But I can't help myself.
Ooops, got to go, my patient is on the phone!!
XOXOXOX

This talk of angels reminds me of last month, my second cousin (who i called uncle) Major Tom Quigley passed away from cancer. He'd been fighting it since his son was one year old. I live in a very close family so it was a major blow when it happened. At the rosary, I, my sister and my cousin went to console his wife and son. We hugged his wife and told her we were sorry for this big loss and she smiled at us with tears in her eyes and said "He may be gone, but now we have the best Guardian Angel to watch over us." That statement, coming at a time when i was unsure of my catholic faith, was the best thing possible for me. I know Uncle Tom is watching over us right now and smiling down form heaven. Thank You for reminding me of that wonderful moment.
RIP Uncle Tom
We miss you and love you!
Love, Mariah
