Question:
Finding a Cure: The Campaign for the National Psoriasis Foundation
Dear friends and supporters,
We share a common goal–a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. With your support, achieving that goal is now within our reach.
Researchers have identified three genes linked to psoriasis. This, and other recent findings, leads us to believe that research is our most direct route to a cure. The sooner we initiate additional research, the sooner we will have safer and more effective psoriasis treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
In order to obtain resources for research, the National Psoriasis Foundation has launched a $5 million capital campaign, Finding a Cure: The Campaign for the National Psoriasis Foundation.
The campaign will fund two important initiatives:
Research–Creation of the world's largest collection of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis genetic samples, with associated clinical information, for use in research. To assure appropriate research, we will enhance the Psoriasis Foundation grant program to fund targeted areas of science.
Advocacy–Work on behalf of the psoriasis community, ensuring that our voice influences decisions affecting federal research dollars and coverage for treatments.
Why research and advocacy?
Identifying and understanding the genes involved in the development of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis will take us straight to the heart of how to cure these diseases.
We must generate a voice in Washington to encourage greater research. The federal government spent more than $28 billion on medical research last year, but only $5 million on psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis research. This is roughly $1 per American with psoriasis–not including children. Our voice across the country will enhance both private and federal insurance coverage to help protect access to new treatments.
Your help makes a difference
We have the scientific technology, the leadership and a plan. Now we need your support as we strive for a disease-free future for the millions who suffer from psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. We need you.
You can assist our cause by donating to the National Psoriasis Foundation. Together we will make a difference. Please help us today!

Thanks Steve.
I think sometimes we forget to look at the front of this site, there is so much useful and helpful information.
Every funding dollar brings us closer to that goal. Whether it's 10 dollars or eleventy billion.
We need a cure.
