*remember when...*
Question:

as i'm approaching my YEAR anniversary of getting on these boards i've done some back tracking through my threads to reminisce a little bit..
so i decided to see if it would take off as a thread, cause i know it gave me a bunch of smiles :)
remember when:
-mike first welcomed me to the boards and i thought for SURE there was a link robot on these boards!
-we took jen to see the tree for the first time, and from that day on i've appreciated the city so much more.
-the floating spirits made our appearance at the last nj get together.
-we had to trek across the capitol because of the unknown man with two suitcases standing silently on the hill *still shuddering over that one!*
-we've shared laughs tears tattoos fears treatments EVERYTHING!
::EDIT: how could i forget baby got back ;)::
there's so much.. and i just wanted to make this thread in case anyone else was feeling nostalgic :)

Oh, yeah I remeber all that. I even rember my first post but I am not linking to it, :)
if you scroll down Here you see my very frist time meetting people from the board. Dear Freinds all of them, though I dont get to talk to them as much as I would like that was a week I will not forget, nor people I will not forget.
another instance that I will not forget. My first confrence and again great times with old and new friends.
I could write a never ending list of events and people but I wont, I could write a three page post alone just on C-hill day and hope the next one in Feb is just as rewarding. I just say as I look back I have laughed, cried, won, lost, learned and grown. All from diffrent one's and in diffrent ways.
so to old friends a toast, to new friends like Abby and Tim who I just had to pleasure of meeting a toast. And one for for the future.

My memories:
Finding Diana and then Brendalynn on the boards, and then we started the support group together. Love them both!
My first conference in San Diego -- I wanted to go but was afraid I wouldn't have anyone to talk to. That was my first motivation for hanging out in chat and getting to know folks. Boy am I glad I did! By the time of the conference, I felt I was reuniting with old friends. And now they are all old friends! Well, some older than others... :D Coming up behind Ginger and yelling "Giants s***!" Kim hitting the floor :D
My first West Coast Bash, and then the second -- and now we're coming up on the third one! Memories of cake smashing into faces. I remember two months after that cake smashing, I leaned over and noticed a dried brown substance on the coffee table leg -- frosting! Brought a smile to my face. I was tempted to let it stay there as a memento of good times.
October 2004 in NJ! My roomie Karen..heehee! Un-pizza -- never got to taste it. Froggie playing pool! Bells and Krista looking oh-so-sexy dancing! Meeting our lovely Katie and Rob for the first time -- priceless!
Capitol Hill Day -- our finest hour! Sixty of us determined to make a difference. I'll never forget it. Washington DC in full cherry blossom splendor...sigh.
Boston conference -- I wasn't up to joining folks in the evening, and even missed a lot of workshops during the day. Hate when my body betrays me like that. But wouldn't have missed it for the world, and still have lovely memories. Especially with Bren slipping into Boston-speak two months later!
Looking forward to making more and more and more memories with all you lovely people. So proud to know each and every one of you and call you friend. Aw look, Ali, now ya got me all misty-eyed! :o

now THAT my friends is a trooper! such a pleasure to know you Sandy, and can't wait to do it all again this year!

There's far too many memories to mention.
For me, there's a couple of things that really stand out:
  • Hearing a very brave little girl (she was only 7 at the time) discuss psoriasis and the need for additional funding for research with a room full of some very powerful adults at the first ever Captial Hill Day.
  • The first ever New Jersey get together, which was held during the night of a hurricane!
  • Ted Drewes in St. Louis. (You want me to get on the end of that long line!?! For frozen custard!?! Are you nuts?!?) (It turned out to be one of the best root beer floats I've ever had. )
  • Making new friends from all over the world.
  • Working with a chat room full of people trying to track down the contact information for a sucidal poster. We did eventually track down someone who had her number. Her local police department took us very seriously and we saved her life. .
  • Walking around New York with Coach G and her friends. In the rain. And seeing the expressions are their faces at the end of the Radio City Christmas show. (Most of them had never been to New York before and had no idea how the show was going to end.)

I can't wait to see what happens next.
I wouldn't wish this disease on my worst enemy. However, if it wasn't for this disease none of us would have ever met. Every one of you has enriched my live more then you'll ever know.
Thanks everyone!
