Question:
I've had P under my arms for a few years, but in the last few months it's gotten pretty unbearable. I can't shave because it burns for days (and I can't go around walking with my arms in the air all the time). Any kind of deodorant I've used causes me to constantly itch and then I break out even more. I'm stinking here and don't have any ideas. If any of you have suffered from a similar situation with a few words of wisdom...it would be greatly appreciated.

Sabrina,,,that has to be miserable.
I really don't have an answer but you could PM Sally,,,getoverit. She knows a lot of natural remedies that might help with that problem.
Tell her that Granny sent you! :) ;)
Hope it gets better.
Hi Sabrina -- I know that underarm psoriasis soooo well! There are many natural deoderants on the market that contain no aluminium or fragrance (both can be irritating). My current one is called Le Stick (yeah I know, funny) and its base is French clay. It doesn't work as well as commercial deoderants, so I have to apply it more often. But it doesn't irritate my underarms, so it's worth it to me. Tom's of Maine also makes a roll-on anti-perspirant that works great on controlling wetness, but it's hard to find. You may have to try a few different brands to find one that suits you. There are "crystal" deoderants that are mineral based that cause me no irritation either.
A good sized health food store will have a number of different brands for you to try. Look for ones that contain no aluminium or fragrance, and see if you can find small samples that won't cost you too much to try. Whole Foods has baskets of samples of all kinds of lotions and deoderants that cost very little.

Hi,
I don't know if this will help or not, but I remember my mother telling me about a mild mixture she had used many many years ago. She had used baking soda and water and made a little paste of it and would apply that to her underarms and it would help.
Thought I'd let you know---I don't think it could hurt.

Hi Sabrina.....
I've got three options...no make that four
1. healthstore Tom's deodorant is good so are most of their brands...but check ingredients anyway
2. chlorophyll tablets...they deodorize the whole body from head to toe
again health store for that
3. Zinc tablets around 50 mgs aday...good for skin but very good as a body deodorizer (head to toe again inc bad breath)
4 Zinc oxide as in Desitin...the creamy one with aloe and vit E...there are two Desitins one is an ointment the other is a cream both in tubes...found in diaper products aisle in drugstore...the ointment is waterproof and really helped me when I had inverse....won't take it away....just takes the itch and burning away! The creamy one is probably best to for under arms.
good luck...they all work ...you just have to pick the one most convenient.... :p
