Family In New Orleans
Question:

We just heard from some of our family in New Orleans. They have lost everything. I can't stop crying right now. I can't even imagine in a million years what they and everyone else there is going though. I feel so very sad right now. Can you even think about your house being under water? I would just be devastated. My sister in law call at 4 this morning, that was the only time she could get through because all the phone lines are busy or mess up down there. She had been calling people there who said the houses would be under water for days, they need some kind of pump to get the water out. The authorities are making the people who stayed behind... leave, because of the danger of power lines and structure damage. It's so hard to believe that they are clearing out New Orleans.
Please keep my family and everyone else that was in the way of this storm in your prayers.
Take care,
Diane

Diane,
They have seen the worst tragedy in years with this storm and it's actually getting worse for them daily until they get the dam fixed. Be thankful that your family is Ok....a lot are not. I think the whole country is praying for them right now.

Diane,
I'm so sorry to hear about your family. What a terrible situation down there. I hope and pray things will work out for everyone. It's just overwhelming to think of and to actually see on the television reports. I will keep you and your family and all that are down there in my thoughts and prayers.

Awww, Diane -- SO, SO sorry to hear this!! :( Tragic enough in itself, but even more so when there's a "personal" connection. And NO, sweetheart -- I CAN'T imagine ... counting my blessings, for sure!!
My heart breaks as I hear the news and I so wish I could be there, doing something. My hope is to one day volunteer for these type things when I complete my RN.
Love, hugs, & prayers, my friend!!

Diane,
I'm glad you got a phone call from your family and they are ok. I also have family there. (Aunt and cousins) We have not heard from them yet. I just keep praying for everyone there. I started crying yesterday when they were talking to a man that lost his wife when they were on their roof and the house split in two. What a horrible thing to have to go through.

Hey Diane,
Of course my prayers are with you and your family along with the hundred & hundreds of thousand of people who lives were devistated in New Orleans, Miss, Alamaba and the other arears of Louisana.
The focus now is too figure out how best to help those you need it the most. The first thing is to rescue those who stayed behinda dn are still alive. Then to evacuate the remaing folksin NO and other place in imminate danger.
Then to start the massive rebuilding of one of the great cities of the world.
The American people where ever we live need to come to aide of fellow Americans. The federal govenment must foot the bill and we all must shared in the cost of reconstruction. The estimate of 25 billion dollars is a steepprice to pay but aren't 1,000,00 plus American worth. I sure hope so.
Once again Diane my prayers are with all those who are suffering with loss of life and property. I am also praying that our govenment does the right thing and not just give lip service.

P.S. They're going to need clothes, cleaning supplies and God knows what else. I'll be happy to send them a care package once the mail system is up and running again.

My dear Diane,
I know you have been so very worried about your family and rightfully so. I am so happy you have heard from them. It is such a horrible situation and the world knows with our news coverage. May they all get help quickly with all of their needs. I have a niece that lives there but made it to Houston.
Again, I am glad they are safe. Be well.

Diane,
It's good to know that you have been able to contact your family. What a relief to know that they made it through ok, physically anyway.
It will be interesting to see how the community shares the experience and rebuilding and how the rest of the country pulls together to make it happen.
Best Wishes.

I am so sorry to hear what happened to your family. I live in Florida, and we lived through a horrific hurricane season last year so the tragedy that has happened to all the folks in LA and MS and AL, hits very close to home for those of us in the Sunshine State. My prayers are with you and your family and everyone affected by this horrific event. But thank God your family survived, and I hope they receive the assistance they so desperately need soon.
