enough already...my vote counts!
Question:

In the year 2000...on the day my daughter was born...all the right votes counted and George W. Bush was elected president thank god. My vote counted.
Anyway, I have been voting on different threads that I like and dislike and it seems that my vote don't count! I've paid my taxes to the NPF, I think my vote should count!
Does anyone else out their vote and never see the stars of their labor? Let me know, maybe I'm making hanging chads or voting for buchanan or nader or something?

Answers:

Yes , I try to give a thread stars and it will not happen!!! No fair! I am memeber TOO!

Why would anyone vote on the contents of a post? Individual have different point of view and to vote on someone idea or thoughts is appaling.
Brad I am so glad that your vote counted in the presidental election of 2000 unfortunitly upwards of a hundred thousands votes that were legally cast were not counted. The American people, especially in Florida were not denied the right to vote but the right to have their vote count.
I guess in some perverse way a new type of Jim Crow Laws were inacted and look what we go. The new Jim Crow Laws says you can vote but it won't count.
Hopefully this year it will be different but they will find ways to supress votes in stratigic district in key states. Its America and as much as we want to believe we are perfect we have a far way to go.
It is not my country love it or leave it. It my country and I will defend it both abroad when justBUT MORE IMPORTANTLY FROM WITHIN!

Being a Floridian I happen to know that not only did everyone have the right to vote, but each and every one was counted. Recount after recount and they never found a discrepency, and lets not forget that many of the recounts were done by the liberal media.
Regarding the rating of threads, I'm not sure I like it or dislike it, but expressing an opinion, whether in agreement or in dissent, is a form of free speech. The author of a thread has the right to say whatever he or she wished, but in the same principle any other member has that same right to agree or disagree either through a reply or through a 'vote'. I would hope that people would not become aggressive or rude, but the right exists to even do that.

Answers:

Well everything else aside....frickin someones vote is counting somewhere. I vote on the things i like, I usually give a 5, never lower than a 4. Not my own stuff but just things I like. I never see any of the stars show up when I vote.
Now someone mentioned something about why anyone would want to vote on threads anyway. Well.....someone thinks it's important because it appears that their vote is counting. Maybe this is just a webmaster question.

1 Attachment(s) Thanks for saying what you said Chaim. I have been thinking along those same lines quite a bit lately. We need to be respectful of everyones right to vote for whomever they want. Being that we are all from such different backgrounds it is expected that we should all have different opinions and beliefs. We need to be careful not to put down the beliefs of those around us. There is a respecful way to go about politics and I think we should all keep in mind that not everyone here feels the same way as you and it is not right to put others down or force your beliefs upon them. I am not pointing any fingers because most people do go about this respectfully, I am just afraid that as the elections draw closer people may ruin otherwise wonderful friendships based purely upon politics. Who cares whether we are democrats or republicans? The fact is we live in this great country that lets us choose! What makes this country so amazing is it's diversity, so if we are all different how can we say one candidate is better for all of us? You can't. Kerry is better for some and Bush is better for others. It's all a matter of personal preference and there is no right or wrong answer. Anyways, my point is I don't want to see people bickering over politics. It's not worth it. We are here because we do share one common denominator, we all have P. Let's all try and remember the P is what matters on this site....the friendship and support we get here is what matters. Not our political affiliation. That's my two cents. -Taryn-

I AGRRE EVERYONE WHO WAS LEAGALLY ELLIGABLE TO VOTE WAS ALLOWED TO VOTE. MANY BALLOTS WERE DEEMED UNREADALBE AND DISCARDED BY FLORIDA ELECTION COMMISSION ( NOT SURE OF THIER CORRECT NAME), THOSE VOTES WERE NOT COUNTED.
THERE WERE A RECOUNT OF THOSE BALLOTS THAT WERE EXECPTABLE AND DEEMED OK THEY WERE COUNTED AND RECOUNTED, BUT THE FACT IS THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF VOTES THAT WERE CASTED LEAGALLY WERE THROWN OUT BECASE OF A FLAW IN THE VOTING SYSTEM! AN A PRESIDENT WAS ELECTED BECAUSE OF IT!
AS FAR AS VOTING FOR THESE THREADS BE MY GUEST. MOST OF THE POSTS HERE AND JUST MINNDLESS ESCAPES AND HAVE NO REAL MEANING. EVERYONE IS SO AFRAID OFF HURTING PEOPLES FEELINGS THAT THEY REFUSE TO POST DIVERGENT POINTS. SO INSTEAD THEY SAY NOTHING!
THE CONVERSATION BOARD IS NOT CONVERSATION.IT IS NOT CHAT. IT HAS BECOME A COLLECT OF DRIBBLE IN MY OPPION. IT SERVE A POINT, BUT WHEN EVERY ONE WALK ON EGG SHELLS THIS IS WHAT WE GET!
PLEASE NOTE THAT IS FINE AND I TOO DO PARTAKE IN MANY OF THESES THREADS AND THE LAST THING THAT I WOULD EVER ADVOCATE IS CENSORSHIP.
THERE IS SOMETHING TO BE SAID FOR MINDLESS BLATHER. IT IS AN ESCAPE!
ALTHOUGH ON MANY OCCASION I DISAGREE WITH OTHER PEOPLE ON THESE BOARDS I WILL DEFEND THEIR RIGHT TO THEIR OPIONS. I AM NOT SURE THAT OTHER SHARE THAT SAME FEELING!

Well darn it, this is about the little stars on top of the threads. I keep voting and it sure looks like they don't count! Someones vote counts just not mine. Can anyone else here vote and get their vote to count? Maybe the voting is for the electoral college of the NPF.

You make that sound like a bad thing? :D
Yes, there was a flaw in the voting system, in Florida and they followed the procedures and guidelines set up by the courts to determine which votes were acceptable to recount.
That’s exactly what should have been done, because if they had tried to hold a new election, that would of opened every state in the union to question the votes in their states,(some where already gearing up) which would have bogged down the system to a point of collapsing.
No election has ever been flawless, think back to Nixon/Kennedy and the 250 thousand plus votes from dead people, giving Kennedy the election.
(It's about having fun, that's why I smile when I write.... :D :D )
As far as the voting on this board, I see no advantage or harm either way.

Of course the Florida scandal was closed when they discovered the amount of double voting that has been going on for years now from people who have residence in both Florida and up north (snow birds as we call them). If anyone does not recalls the statistics that came out I will recap:
There were 46,000 voters registered in 2 states (Florida and New York). Of those 46,000 68% are Democrats, 12% are Republicans and 16% didn't claim a party. So if a real investigation was done I think we would know that Bush actually won in a land slide once you take away all those double votes.

Sounds like Chicago politics. When the late Mayor Daley was up for re-election the saying was, Vote early and vote often :D :D Personally, I'm ok with other peoples political opinions, that's what makes this a great country. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The thing that gets me angry and upset is when people with opposing opinions of mine try to force their opinions down my throat. They tell me I'm wrong, I'm an "bad, evil, etc" person because of my political beliefs. Yes, I'm voting for Bush and I freely admit he's not perfect, he's made mistakes. But for me, Kerry is the worst choice because the man has flip-flopped so many times, he looks like a flipping idiot. How's that for walking on eggshells. Just my 2 cents

It got so political thanks to someone not reading Brad's post all the way through.
You're right, we should keep it light in view of friendships. We should just agree to disagree.
And remember; vote BUSH :D

FYI: I'm not a Republican, I'm a Libertarian. I vote the man, not the party.
