THIS IS WHAT THE NPF CONFERENCE WAS ABOUT, it went much deeper than getting information & free samples. It's all about all of us, as a whole membership. It rocked.

Thanks,
I wish I had thought of it first, the quotes came from a list that was handed out during a session with Dr. Steven K Sharma ( derm ) of Brookline MA at the conference.
I'm still working on that list for myself personally. I was able to enjoy each symptom from the list this past weekend, but now I am having a hard time with a few of them, but I'm getting there.
I think " a loss of the ability to worry " is the toughest for me, it's really hard not too when your treatments don't work like they are suppose to, your in constant flares and fear for your joint future. It can be difficult to have the " unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment " when your in that kind of pain.
I'm glad that I have people who understand.
On the flip side " an increased susceptiblity to the love extended by others and the uncontrollable urge to love them back " is a slam dunk.
Dr. Sharma had a very calming way about him, he reminded me so much of my rheumy. It was such an uplifting experience. Just like the conference itself. I'm still overwhelmed.
I know who my next derm will be when the need arises.

Wow, thanks for sharing these thoughts Karen... They are deep and thoughtful.

Karen,
Those words were so perfect for the conference. Being my first conference, it was all and so much more than I expected. The people from NPF and all the old and new friends I made in Boston will be with me in my heart for the rest of my life. The speakers were terriific and so inspiring.
What a wonderful weekend and wonderful, wonderful friends. You have all given me such a warm, trusting, fun, silly, educational, emotional, and so many other things I could never expess enough of times.
Looking so forward to CHD and the next conference in Portland next year.
Sandy
....and Portland will be the best conference yet!!!! :) :) :)
Here is a quote I also think fits this thread............
The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn the past, not to
> worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the
> present moment wisely and earnestly.
I wish everyone could have attended Dr. Sharma's session.
I'm so happy that I met Kelly in the hall so she could re-direct me as I thought I was suppose to be helping at a different session. Must have been fate. :) Either that or she thought I would benifit from it. L :) L.
If anyone ever gets the opportunity to hear this man speak, please do, his words spoke volumes and he was the perfect compliment to the conference.
Have a nice day, oh and I love you. :)
