Question:
OK.. To all the Ladies who suffer with inverse P under your breasts, trust me you know who you are!! I was going to post this on the MBB, but figured this was going to get silly :o so here it is....
After being in extreme pain since Wed. with a really bad case of inverse P under my breasts, (this is probably the worse case I've even had) I had been doing the desitin along with a powder that has zinc in it and it was bearable till Wed. when the temp went up and we spent the day at the zoo. Now I'm doing neosporin and using 4x4's (ok 4x4's opened up so their 4x8's) under my breasts to keep skin from touching skin....
I've been reasearching bras, and so far I have not found one that doesn't have the band that goes around the chest :( and duh...that band has to sit right on the inverse P. KWIM  .... I've found that P people are very creative, WE have to be, we battle flakes and crust and everything else so why can't we figure out a way to keep the breasts off the chest without having that awful band. I thought about using duct tape to lift the "national geographics" off my chest, it does come in fabulas colors but the thought of removing it sounds painful. I've also thought about getting "pierced" and running ribbon through the rings and around my neck, but I keep having visions of Janet Jackson...and with my luck the p would attack the piercings and then where would I be???
I need to find or make a modified bra.... I don't even like calling it a bra, I just need to find or make something that lifts the breasts off the chest. imagine little (OK small) upside down parachutes that would tie behind the neck like a halter top. I'm not looking for a fashion statement just functional...if we could come up with an idea that works, just think of all the woman with inverse P this could help....
Just so the men don't feel left out your ideas and I CAN'T wait to see them... are welcome (now you know why this is on this board and not the MBB)....and before anyone says sports bra, they have that band around the chest.... If we can come up with an idea we also need a name for our invention, and yes people I'm desperate enough that if you can post the instructions I'll be the guniea pig, make it, even model it and post the pic......
I'm going to go find some construction paper and start designing.... after I lock myself in the bathroom....cause if hubby sees me doing origami and trying them on my breasts he'll want to have me committed....
Oh Boy I see you haven't lost your sense of humor,Pat.....I know what you are going through I went through this last summer.........I have found the best thing was a very xlarge sports bra....but you have to examine them for comfort in the part that goes around the midriff....I found a wide band helped...no ridges! also it helps to wash it several times to soften the fabric.
I no longer have inverse...since starting the slippery elm....it was the first thing that went away!
Last summer I tried everything even some clay that was supposed to be healing....Gobs of Desitin, powder with zinc, pure zinc....nada! In fact that was when it started growing, the shadow effect was going on down to the stomach! UGH! going braless around the house helped....( I tell everyone to call before they visit me or they won't get through the door :D )
Do you ever notice that the inverse itches more after eating? I did and that was when I had a blood allergy test and found out why I itched so bad after eating.........I was allergic to 12 foods...common ones like milk, peppers, soy (soy is in everything) etc.....
Benedryl helped one night when I was at an art show and ate something (prior to allergy test) that started an itching frenzy.....I took a baking soda bath, 2 benedryl and slept like a baby.
Hope you find something to help your inverse...it's a nightmare I know!
OMG - you are hilarious. How about a tube or bandeaux top? I don't have inverse, but have used a product called Braza (kind of like the duct tape idea) - it cups the "national geographics" lol and has tapettes on either side (makes a demicup) - kind of like a panty liner with wings (without the absorbant part)... hey now there's an idea - gauze pads with wings for the boobular area... or how about a bra with removabe gauze pads where the underwire would be? They also have bras made for backless dresses where the "straps" go around your waste. What a disease  .
what is inverse p? my cousin put some anti-fungal under her breasts and her P went away....well ended up it was fungus from sweating...ewww
Victoria Secret has a extra padded band at the bottom
Pat,,,my sister always gets rashes under her breasts,,,she is very big ,I might say,,,so she went and bought every color tank top with the double layered material,,,almost like a built in bra ,,but it's not,,,she is so confortable in them,,,and she got them in Walmart,,,on sale for 3.00 a piece,,,every color,,,heck,,,just try them....hope it works for you.....
what is inverse p?
I've heard this inverse p term used alot on this forum. Is it p or pa. Will someone please explain? Thanks in advance.
Ingrid
Pat, been there and still working on it. Found a cotton bra at Walmart that has worked better. I've done desitin, cornstarch, vaseline, and Protopic.
I used l% cortisone with a fungicide the derm gave me. Nothing, nada.
She finally gave me a small tube of locoid cream with the "warning" do not use it in the crease itself just up to it, and put vaseline on otherwise.
It was not my first choice of treatment but it is almost gone. The relief is great. I know what you are going through. An old Amish remedy which I tried and worked sorta for a short time was to brown flour in a cast iron skllet (no grease or anything just brown dry) and mix 3/l to cornstarch and use as a powder. I also found an ointment made by Aveeno Oatmeal with cortisone in it for itching and it too worked for a short period of time.
For now I am sticking to the locoid ointment for the short term. Good Luck and if you find that Bra, sign me up.
what is inverse p? just walk around nude on all fours - that should help you out :D :D :D
.....a little hard on the knees (or feet) and hands, Jeff!!....you're not helping! ;) :D
Thanks Mike.
just walk around nude on all fours - that should help you out :D :D :D
*SMACK* :D
well, if you're done having kids, you could have a breast reduction to an A cup. Then there'd be no need for a bra! ;)
just walk around nude on all fours - that should help you out :D :D :D
Jeff......... If I did that then I'd not only have the inverse P but I'd probably have rug burns on my "janet jacksons"...... :D :D :D :D
1 Attachment(s) Sooooooo glad the coffee cup's empty .... :D

Oh my goodness, what a brilliant thought!!! However, I will be lopsided & fall flat on my face as I only have one booby... :D :D :D
Now to get on the serious side = Try using Bacitracin or just Vaseline. That has helped me.

Double Smack!!! :P Get your mind out of that gutter Jeff!!!!! :P
LOL. But anyway, I'm w/you Merkinsmom on the whole Bra ordeal. Lately w/the Enbrel it's been better in that area, but it still bother's me from time to time (esp on the warmer summer days-the Enbrel seems to have cleared up almost everything but my inverse P...*sighs*.) Some Bra's that I buy I have to throw out later because they end up bothering my P there...it's still red from time to time. ;-; LOL, we'd all make millions if we could come up with a bra that wouldn't bother us people with inverse P!!! I usually use cortaid at night to soothe that area underneath the boobs if it's bothering me, but the derm just gave me some Elidel for some small p spots on my face...maybe it'll work for that area too...??? Hmmmmmm...

The only thing I know about bra's is how to unhook them with one hand in the dark....not sure that will help you at all..:)
What about for the guys? Why not an easy release latch for guys with PA? :D
