ART BELL and TACO BELL
Question:

Disclaimer: I am not recommending the food at Taco Bell, eat at your own risk. However, they do have a good slogan...."think outside of the box".
So, onto ART Bell. Art Bell began a late night radio program from the High Dessert in Nevada many years ago. Although Art is not on all that much anymore the program remains now hosted by George Nory.
It's as good as ever and often addresses alternatives in medicine, healing, etc.. As long as you can wade through the UFO stuff it's an interresting program to listen to and very popular as well.
I know of one other Art Bell junkie on this board and who knows maybe more. Anyway this will be a good place to explore current news from the programs and guests that they have. I listen to him as much as I can but not everyday so if you here some news post it here.
And "thinking outside the box" is ok. Remember it wasn't that long ago that the world was flat.

Answers:

too bad being able to think outside of the box isn't a prerequisite of this part of the boards, LOL.
And hey, don't worry if you are nuts, Brad, you're in good company...everybody thought Columbus, Lennon, Van Gogh, Galileo, Amelia Earheart and others were nuts too...you know, brilliant creative geniuses society felt a need to ostracize because their minds were too small and closed to comprehend them. LOL. And let's not forget that everyone thougth EINSTEIN was RETARDED!
It's a shame that when people see soething they don't understand, they sometimes automatically criticize out of fear instead of seeing it as an opportunity to learn somethign new. Rather than letting these people anger me though, I am learning to feel sympathy for them. It is them who will lead a limited life.

Answers:

Brad,
I am a huge fan of Coast to Coast AM with George Nory. Art Bell is still hosting as well but he is on the weekends. The problem I have with what you said is that if your not listening to the UFO and other nutty things whats the use? Its hilarious I love the way George and Art treat the nutcases who call in. The act like they are the most sane callers in the world! LOL. Well that and the bumper music make the program worthwhile.
Peace
Shawn

I have heard of Art Bell but don't know what station or time he is on....but I have heard about him for years......You must listen to him driving on all those trips you take.... spookey!

Answers:

But a lot of those callers are probably paid actors. I know because my first paid acting job several years ago was doing various wacky"characters" on a very famous "shock jock's" show, only everyone thought I was for real when I called up with my wacky scenarios, they'd call up screaming their opinon...felt kinda like here yesterday LOL. Most talk shows and reality TV shows are staged too.
PS Hey Shawn - still smoke free?

Answers:

Jen,
Art and George are not "shock jocks" 1st off. They dont screen the callers who call in either. There are no "wacky characters." If you would try listening to the show you would get the jist of it. hate to burst your bubble but as fine an "actor" as im sure you are, you cant comment on things you dont really know about.

Answers:

OOOOOOOOOOKKKK...LIke I said, lots of shows, not just shock jocks do this, and I wasn't screened, I was waiting in cue...anyways, not sure what I did to upset you, and warrant getting insulted, I asked you about your health in earnest... Have a good night anyways, I guess

Answers:

Jen
Look im not upset at all. I totally missed you asking me about smoking. Im still smoke free 1 month and 2 weeks now. Thank you.
The point I was making was this show is on in the middle of the night. They dont need to pay actors to call in. The kooks will call in for free.
I apologize I didnt mean to come off sounding agressive and mean Jen.

I don't think we get it here on the west coast or I definitely would...but admittedly, I use to go on at 3 and 5 am...Sorry :( I hope I didn't ruin your fun with the shows...it's entertaining anyways, IMO, everyone loves reality TV and that's 75% staged...it's the emotion that's interesting.
PS COngrats on the smoking...and I think if you ever saw me act, you'd think I was quite entertaining...but now I need to get my a## in gear on that again now don't I LOL.

I've been to area 51 thats all I can say. And yes, I actually like the alien stuff and anything to do with the airforce.
Also, I'm pretty sure they are not paid actors that call in. I think that the Phil Hendrie show has the fake people.
Art and George actually have some very interresting guests and if you listen the callers are for the most part genuine. I think the popularity is that there are a lot of people that are willing to live outside of the box.
I was raised religious and quite honestly if you truely follow you religion, whatever it is, you need to automatically think outside the box. You must have faith because a lot of religion throws science on it's butt.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ for instance. There are a lot of people who believe in this event, or at least they go to a church that practices it, or honor the pope or other ministers who preach and promote it. This cannot be explained by science but yet so many people believe. In fact, I think one would be hard pressed to find someone in the medical community to produce evidence of a human being returning from the dead after 3 days post mortem due to a witnessed execution. Even our money, "In god we trust". Thats on there for a reason. A lot of people think outside the box, it is ok.

Answers:

OK guys, no worries. It's really NOT that important, just thought I'd throw some useless and (aparently not :p )entertaining trivia at you. Damn, I wish I didn't have such a long week and had the energy to go out now, this computer is starting to blur my eyes...time to do jumping jacks or something LOL

But really, the whole establishment is somewhat condescending to hispanic culture, isn't it? I mean, who in the heck made up the word chalupa I don't remember that in Spanish class chapter 8 traditional foods. Some white corporate guy in a suit made that one up I think HEE HEEE :D

Don't rub it in, I loved the Supreme Gordito. (Did I say a brand name?)
That was the only junk food I would get in my car for. (Oh, yeah, there was the Costco cheesecake.)
I used to have a pretty good diet until 3 years ago. I just got hedonistic, because the kids were gone, college was paid for. I was bored.
Why is it that when your kids finally get raised and good jobs and personalities of their own that they don't have the time to hang out with Ma? It's not fair.
And I finally get time to kick back. I guess I'll have to find something productive to do. I'm thinking about checking out extension classes at Bastyr University, its only about 10 miles from my house. I don't know if I would want to make it a job, I just want to know more.
