Collect Questions

I just wanted to thank all of you for your well wishes.... I have a VERY scary experience!!! Late in the evening on Friday I took my sceduled dose of Enbrel ! shot on my right side and one on the left... Before I did it I was just looking at my stomach and I was so amazed on how good my skin looked... So I proceeded with my injections... About 15 minutes later I was feeling pretty hot so I went into the bathroom to look at my face and noticed it was kind of red... In lifting my shirt to look at the rest of my body I could have passed out from what I saw..... I Was BRIGHT RED EVERYWHERE..... I kept an eye on it for a few minutes and then began to see HUGE red patches forming ALL over my face! so I went in to tell my mother who was sleeping who ordered me into going to take some antihistimines and normally I would just listen to her but I just didnt feel right... Meanwhile Rob (who I was on the phone with AS usual lol) was listening to my symptoms he was telling ALL of you that were in chat that night and if it wasnt for you scaring the bageezes out of me the outcome could have been ALOT worse!!!! After calling my derm's answering service and her NOT calling back the many pages and calls to her (still 3 days later and heard nothing) I decided the ER was the best place for me to be... and ALL of you that know me know THAT I ABSOLUTLY HATE the Hospital but I knew I had to be there.... My dad decided to drive me because calling 911 would have taken longer being that we have a volunteer ambulance dept.! As soon as I walked into the emergency room there were about 25 people waiting to be seen! I walked up to the desk thinking to myself that I just wanted to turn around and just go home but before I really had a chance to think The lady at the front desk picked up her phone and said "Nurse to triage room STAT" and immediatly 3-4 nurses came running out and ran me back to a trauma room... Hooked me up to all kinds of monitors put IV's in my arm... and pumped me with a TON of medicine... ALl together I was stuck 12 times because my veins kept crashing... I was given two differnt types of steriods, benedryl, pepcid, all in the IV and then heprin (sorry about the spelling) in the stomach OUCH!!! Nothing was getting better so they decided to admit me I didnt sleep for 2 days because I was scared to go to sleep... Before they told me what floor they were putting me on the doctor said he wanted to put me in ICU/IMCU but had no beds but had a bed on a surgical floor near a nurses station so that is where I ended up! i Just couldnt sleep all this meds they gave me I faught the sleepyness for the fear that I wouldnt wake up! Yesterday morning.. They took blood from me and came back with my white cell count was elevated to 23 so of course I am freaked out about that and he wanted to run some tests but I JUST wanted to go home... So I promised I would go see my GP on Tuesday... I am feeling ok today still a bit tired and not feeling myself... I feel sooooooo weak and I have no energy but I am HAPPY to be home...... I am so grateful and SOOOOO EXTREMLY BLESSED to have ALL OF YOU!!!! Without all of you that were in chat that night pushing me to go to the ER my outcome would have become ALOT worse..... I thank aLL OF you from the bottom of my heart!!!! You all mean the world to me and you have NO IDEA how much you have helped me..... I love ALL OF YOU...... Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!! I will keep you updated on what happens tomorrow at the doctors office..... I am off to bed again..... i Just cant stop saying thank you enough and I dont think as many times as I write it will even come close to how I feel towards all of you!!!! XOXOXOXOXOXOXO


So so glad you out of the hospital and feeling a little beter. I know what it must have been like to try and get you to the ER. Alex (my son) has very bad asthma and if he tells me it time to go to the ER I worry that its life threatening. He will do everything in his power not to go. So I know where your coming from.
Carol and I missed you at MOhengan. I figured you would do anyhting incuding going to the ER to get out of meeting us there. LOL only kidding.
It was a lot of fun but not the same without you!

How scary! Was Enbrel the CAUSE??


Not to scare anyone but my reaction WAS the cause of Enbrel!! But I am ok. I have an appointment with BOTH the rheumy and derm tomorrow night to talk about what we are going to do next!! They are extremly worried about the flare that I will have since being on such a HIGH dose of Prenisone! So well see what happens!!!! But as for TODAY I feel GREAT!!!! so that is good news!!!
