...what more can go wrong....this my sound stupid but will you pray for my baby "scooter."....she is my one true friend that i can cry into her fur and she always makes me feel better...she woke uo sick monday morning and just "looked funny"and layed around all day...by evening she couldnt even hold her head up....her breathing was very labored and fast...i took her temp. and it was 104...normal is 100...i was afraid she wouldnt make it thru the night and woke up several times to make sure she was still breathing...i got her to the vet. first thing yestarday morning and after all the test...it showed her heart was so enlarged it was taking up almost all of her chest cavity...she also has fuild around her heart and fluid around her lungs...the vet doesnt know for sure what is going on...she put her on 4 types of meds and gave her a shot for water and one for pain and a shot of anti-biotics...she hoped to see a big improvement by today...there has been none..the vet said the next step would be a complete cardiovascular work up with ultrasound....but...this will cost over a thousand dollars for that one test...i cant pay that!...so please...if you think its stupid to pray for a dog...would you at least pray for me not to loose my best friend...i dont think i could bear it if i lost her...she is my only comfort i got in this hole wide world....thanks :(


Definitely not stupid to pray for any pet! Heck, who is more loyal than a pet?? Our friends and family can and will hold grudges, but a pet has unconditional love for their owner.
I'll keep little scooter in my thoughts.

It may be true that all good dogs go to heaven, but my prayers go out to you and scooter that the two of you may enjoy each others companionship for many years to come.

Hi Linda. It isn't stupid to ask for prayers for your dog and of course you have mine. We are so much more humane to our pets than we are to our fellow humans. Hope Scooter is getting better and better and soon he will be back to his old self.

I completely understand. There's NOTHING like the unconditional love we get from our fur babies. I will say a special prayer for Scooter. Take care.

thanks for all the well wishes and prayers...scooter is not any better ....the vet said i should see improvement by last night if the meds were gonna work...she wont eat and cant even stand up without help.....i am calling the vet back tomarrow if she is still not any better....i will keep you informed....thanks for the offer for a "scooter fund"....but i cant ask you guys to do that..but i really am touched about your offer...thanks


well i took scooter back to the vet. today.....she is not doing any better...the doc. has now put her on predision to try to help get the fluid off her tiny body...she is all swelled up from the fluid...even though she hasnt eaten hardly ant food she still weight the same...doc. said that was the fluid and increasted her water pill...her breathing is no better and she is still to weak to walk...please continue to hold her in your thoughts and prayers....thanks so much guys....you know what...with all that is going on with scooter...i havent had time to be depressed as much...so even with my heart breaking...scooter is helping me as much as i am trying to help her... :(

I hope Scooter starts to turn around this weekend. Maybe the addition of the prednisone will do it. We are all still pulling for the both of you.

I do think helping somone or something else does relieve depression. It was at the top of my list along with exercise. But in more serious cases, helping others does the trick.


:) i think scooter is finaly turning the corner and is getting better ...she is getting up by herself and walking again...she is hungry again and now its so much easier getting her meds down...thank you EVERYONE who had us in your thought and prayers...iIT WORKED...she still has an enlarged heart but with the right meds she can still live a happy and i hope.. a long life with me still...thanks again..i feel so much better myself..again....THANK YOU ALL :)
