Believe it or not I love hurricanes! If they are tropical storms or just category 1 hurricanes they are a lot of fun as far as I am concerned. Nothing like going to the beach as the Hurricane is approaching and seeing the crazy waves (and crazier surfers). Helping your neighbors batton down as the winds are picking up is ever so exhilarating.


i can understand that . but after going through betsy and andrew and so close for camile .i dont want no storms lol
i have a friend that goes through hell to get to them when there in florida too.


Oh yes...good old Uncle Andrew....boy was that a heck of a thunder storm...;)
A whole lot of good insurance money came from that breezy day.
This is why I stop my excitement at a category 1 hurricane. I don't even like to stick around for category 2.....great excuse to have a Disney vacation!


Oh yeah Chaim, most anything is a great excuse to go to Disney. Which is exactly where I'll be in 30 days!!!! No hurricane or tropical storm will stop us when it comes to our annual visit to the House of Mouse!

ChaimFL - you love hurricanes???? YIKES!!! I have an unnatural fear of them and I get stressed out everytime I think one is going to hit Galveston. Alicia scared the peejeebers out of me when I first moved down here. Tropical Storm Allison (yes, only a tropical storm) was so horrendous and caused so many people so much heartache with all of the flooding.
Sorry guys, but I'm happy I am spared this time!


last year there was a big hurricane just south of new orleans so they decided to let people stay in the superdome lol . my nephew is a new orleans cop and he said they stole the seats cut the carpet off the floor . raised hell that the food wasnt good enough and didnt wanna leave after the threat was over . what is happening to our beautiful city grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I think sitting through a hurricaine would be fun. Well, not if your roof gets blown off or something. But I think it would be comforting to sit in a house protected from all the chaos outside eating hurricaine chow.

Looks like it's going to totally miss us. At most we will get one or two of the bands. I woke up to birds chirping and the sun rising. Tampa people need to be careful!
