Question:
New to this site and new to using Amevive, anyone else using it? Any success stories? I have been on it about 7 weeks and it seems to finally be helping a little, though it it suppose to be a slow recovery. Just curious if anyone has any insight on it?

Hey Boogs, I'm on Enbrel personally so I can't offer advice on Amevive. I've heard good & bad things about all the biologics. You might get a better response if you post to the Psoriasis board.. just a thought.
You can also click on Search in that bar that goes across your screen & type in amevive, you'll probably get a lot of info that way too.
Good luck & welcome to the boards!!!
Jen
thanks, I guess I didn't realize the difference between conversation and other boards, just a newbie to all this. thanks again Jen

Hello Boogs,
I participated in clinical trials for Amevive. Approximately 4 years running. 12 weeks of infusions then 9 months of no treatment (1 year total). Each time I would begin to clear around week 8-10 and improve over the course of the following 4 -5 months. Alas my PS would then slowly return and after approx 12 months from the start of the initial infusion I would be ready (10-20%) to start back into another round of treatments. No side effects, but I did have blood work each week during infusions and monthly while I was not being dosed. Again, no adverse blood tests were reported.
Currently I am taking enbrel 1x50mg per week. This is more a matter of convenience and not a knock on the effacacy of Amevive.
Good Luck, and keep us posted as to how Amevive works for you.
I have had partial results from biologics. They work then they stop.. I was on Amivie, Enbrel and Humera. All started well but then stop working at some point. Doctor believes that my body is building anti-bodies fighting off the effect of the biologic. This time I am about to start Remacide and she has started me on a lose does on MTX to prevent the manufaturing of the antibodies.
Combination therappies are becoming more and more popular. You may want to check with your doctor.
