I thought we could learn more about our country to start this---we are doing "Beautiful places" so why not-----
This giant tin coffee pot situated at the northern end of the Old Salem historic district was created by the Mickey brothers as an advertisement for their tinsmith shop, which had been located further north near the border between the then-separate towns of Salem and Winston. In 1962, due to the construction of Interstate 40 (now Business I-40), it was moved to its present
This "pot" holds 740 gallons---now that's a lot of coffee!!!!!!!!! Was actually used to make coffee!
Read about it here----very interesting-something you would never see if you're just passing through.

Today we had this great big ball of light..... somebody told us it was called the sun..... just not used to it I guess!!!!
This is unusual. In the 1950's this was a gas staion at the entrance to a "frontier town" theme shopping center. The hat housed the pay station and the boots were the restrooms. They have deteriorated over the years, but Seattle decided to preserve them and has moved them to a park and they are in the process now of being restored.
Anything unusual in my town?
Yes.
ME.
Lincolns Toe Truck has been a part of Seattle since I was a kid.

2 Attachment(s) This stands along the highway in Providence, it is the New England Pest control mascot- his name is Nibbles Woodaway- at Christmastine he gets a red light-up nose- I think he got the Del's lemonade when we were deciding on the official state drink- Del's lost, Coffee milk won.
2 Attachment(s) No joke. We have 3 glass pyramids here. One has a rain forest inside of it. The second has one of the best aquariums I've seen. The third has a big screen Imax theatre.
Together they're called Moody Gardens (after the Moody family who donated the money to the foundation here on Galveston Island).
