Question:
I have an idea. It's just an idea, so don't jump down my throat. Maybe we need to think before we respond to a post. Is what we are going to say truly relevant to the post or are we having a gut reaction to it? It seems that trouble begins here, on all of the forums, when we get off the track of the origin of the post or when rather than add diplomatically what our feelings are about the subject we attack the subject or the poster.
We should post our opinions in the appropriate threads and not use every thread to voice our opinion or criticize the opinion of another. I've been guilty of this in the past and I think I've learned my lesson. I've been tempted to jump into the arguments as of late but I've either bitten the skin off my right thumb or I've put the Bee Gee's on very very loud to distract me.
We are such a varied group of people. But we have one thing in common and that is P/PA. Let's not try to shove our political, religious or medical beliefs down one another's throat. And please, this is not directed towards anyone in particular. It's a trend that has developed for sometime now and is tearing us apart.
If you feel like I'm acting like a goodie two shoes or a know it all, this is your test. Keep that opinion to yourself and listen to the theme of this post. Don't knock me for personal reasons. Just relate to the content of this post. And keep it polite.
Like I said, I'm no angel. I made my mistakes here and I think I've learned from them. It's my goal to make this a user friendly site while having a damned good time. We need to let off steam. We need to be silly. But our goals should also be to help others who need our suppport and to encourage new people who happen upon us.
Right now a group of dedicated NPF members are lobbying for us in DC. How great is that? Who cares whether or not you like them personally. It is your obligation to support them and appreciate what they are doing. It took me a long time to figure out not everyone in this life is going to like you or agree with you. But we all deserve to be respected.
I'm not on a soap box. I just want this site to be all that it can be. (I apoligize to the Army for borrowing their slogan.)
XOXO
Annie

Thanks Helen,
It's great to be back. And I love Arizona!!!! I now have an aversion to cardboard. My head spins around 360 degrees and I spew green vomit at the sight of it. It feels good to be retired. But then again, I'm very busy right now. Who knows how I'll feel down the road.

That quick, 90 degree turn to the left that this thread just made was nearly audible.
