Beautiful places
Question:

Hi
I want to start this thread about pictures of some beautiful corners around
our town.
It may be nice to show the other some beautiful corner next our houses
if you agrees...rules are
show only the one link to avoid excessive npf server work loading pages.
(avoid to load images directly....)
Adding only few rows of comment,(this to do not burden other viewers)
Show only places around our house (no site were someone traveled in the past) .This to discover unknow and unique corners....
and to know each us with photo of our areas.
If someone is fortunate to live in an important city, avoid to show us immagines that all the wolrd already know (Rome--Coliseum,or new york skyscrapers ..and so on..)
avoid to monopolize the thread,so show only one nice link and let space to the others....
If someone has other good ideas..then let us know !
(rules needed to avoid that fortunate people add a lot of post...i hope this
thread will become one to show only unknowed corner to mass people and not
a competion about beautiful places.I 'm sure that in every town or next to every town there are some beautiful landscapes or monument not knowed to mass people....then this may be a good idea to know the world where we live)
So i start here with this photo
http://www.gidue.com/img/baveno/panoramica.jpg
It is a photo of Lake Maggiore sited 40 km north west from my town
The northern part of the lake belongs to switzerland, the southern to Italy
the west side of the lake is full of beautiful villas and gardens.
the only defect is that during last years water start to become polluted..
I hope to know here in this thread some nice places...
Ciao
Maurizio

Twinkies and Root Beer

A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of Root Beer and he started his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he met an elderly man. The man was sitting in the park just feeding some pigeons.
The boy sat down next to him and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the man looked hungry, so he offered him a Twinkie.

The man gratefully accepted it and smiled at boy. His smile was so pleasant that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered him a root beer.
Again, the man smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.
As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave, but before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the man, and gave him a hug. The man gave him his biggest smile ever.
When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, "What did you do today that made you so happy?

"He replied, "I had lunch with God." But before his mother could respond, he added, "You know what? God's got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen!"

Meanwhile, the elderly man, also radiant with joy, returned to his home. His son was stunned by the look of peace on his face and he asked," Dad, what did you do today that made you so happy?"
He replied, "I ate Twinkies in the park with God." However, before his son responded, he added," You know, he's much younger than I expected."

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Embrace all equally!

San francisco bay is wonderful,New Jersey, the opposite side of New York Bay,
and also the Panoramic photo of Grannyfanny.
It may be that you in Usa already know all of your country, but for people
like me living in another country is wonderful to see this photos..
So sensation and perspectives may be different.

I don't have a picture of it, but the most beautiful place in the world (in my opinion) is the RCA Dome right before awards at BOA Grand National Prelims. It's beautiful because there are thousands of people there that know nothing about each other, but for 1 hour they become a family. I <3 marching band.

But i'm not the thread owner, the owner is NPf.
So i take other people's permission to answer to ARL question .
European does not know much about Usa,and viceversa, only stereotypes painted
by movies,tv etc...So is useful to know other countries
(in this case virtually) by the direct description of inhabitants.
I Visited vatican during a trip to Rome many years ago.
A day to visit Rome is not enough....also not enough few rows to describe
sumarizing about vatican may be possible .
In italy we do not say..i visited vatican...but instead i visited
"Saint Peter".....vatican is the name of the Quarter.During Roman Empire
it was a stadium where ancient Romans crucified upside down Saint Peter.
The external of the church is beautiful but the inside is something left
your mouth opened...
Near the church is the Museum...The Vatican Musuem...full of fine
and precious art masterpieces..and the Sixtine chapel all painted by
Michelangelo...the site were bishops will meet to elect the new Pope.
here the link to official site of vatican musuems...take a free virtual visit
between masterpieces (is written in english...)

My little town and the lake i love seems to be so less matching Saint Peter
and other important places...but i love my little town and the lake because
remember my good memories....
I'd like to see every place and every pics you will post to this thread
because i'm sure it will means something important for the Man/Woman who
